Senedd election 22:58 - Apr 4 with 17242 viewsCwmafanJack

How do you see it ending up?
Personally can see labour loosing quite a few votes to plaid not enough to make a significant difference though.
Can see the tories doing better than expected but abolish taking votes off them. Odds on labour plaid coalition.
Constituency changes can't see many.
Plaid to take llanelli and maybe Carmarthen west and south pembs with outside chance Caerphilly, Cardiff west
Tories to take Bridgend and maybe one or two up north east Wales.
Labour not to win any new seats

You say Corbyn lied on many occasions, but I can't recall seeing one?

Labour struggled at the election due to their botched position on Brexit, and since because of their move to the middle ground. That plus a right wing media., which people unfortunately cannot see.

And the Tories continue with lie after lie. The only future is an independent Wales. Scotland is going and an United Ireland not far behind. You will then be left with an United Kingdom of England and inconsequential Wales.

Off the top of my head, Corbyn lied about not being able to get a seat on a train, there's one.

Was a successful tactic to defeat the terrorist and guerilla warfare tactics by the boers.

I see you have not criticised your beloved USA who set up the first concentration camps, called Indian reservations, where 100,000s of native Americans died.

What about the 60% increase since 2016 in punishment beatings by the IRA . The IRA were also responsible for 27 of the 31 shooting in NI.
They clearly have not given up their arms as decreed by the good Friday agreement your friend Adams signed on their behalf.

You have once again gone of topic on a Welsh Senedd topic

Does he love the USA, don't remember seeing that but it's probably best not to mention Guantanamo Bay either then?

Kilky, see the thread "The Mauritanian" it really is shocking what those Yanks have done.

Corbyn is known as a bit of a fibber ,or having a selective memory. Don't worry though all politicians suffer the same affliction , it's in the job description .
He denied that he’d said article 50 should be immediately invoked, He did say it on the following day  on the BBC.
There's more , a lot more, on being interviewed by Andrew Neil Corbyn stated : 'I didn’t support the IRA. I don’t support the IRA. What I want everywhere is a peace process.’ A little fib there Gezza, Corbyn opposed the Anglo-Irish agreement. He reportedly lobbied the government on behalf of IRA prisoners. A socialist magazine whose editorial board he headed gloated over the Brighton bombing and threatened Margaret Thatcher with further violence.

Corbyn told Neil: 'I never met the IRA.' This is a lie. Corbyn invited Gerry Adams to the Commons weeks after the Brighton bombing. Ireland's Taoiseach Enda Kenny has said that, from all the evidence he has seen, Adams was not merely an IRA member but sat on its army council. . He once attended a Wolf Tone Society meeting where he openly declared " "I'm happy to commemorate all those who died fighting for an independent Ireland" . But we'll forgive him the doddery old fool

So for me and I suspect for many others , Corbyn was unelectable and would never have become the PM of this country.

Corbyn was useless.
No chance of winning.

His ego delivered Brexit and Johnson.

Once Jezza knew he could not win he should have quit.
He even said Labour won the argument - after losing.

If he really cared he should have walked himself.

Thankfully he ensured the UK had a progressive Conservative government that works for all the UK and not just his trade union paymasters.

I believe it was later confirmed that any empty seats had reserved pre booked notices on them and could not be used.

But don't expect any right wing media and that includes the BBC to report that.

Let's hope that you are happy with Johnson, the 150k covid dead. The tens of thousands disabled killed, the billions given to Tony cronies, the privatisation of the NHS.etc etc

The Mirror and Guardian are left wing sympathisers but ALL other media including the BBC and Sky are blatantly right wing..

The UK is stuffed, the only way forward is independence.

Have you forgotten the biggest privatisation of the NHS occurred under Tony Blair's Labour under his PFI scheme where private firms built and have the maintenance contracts for new hospitals at a guaranteed rate of return of 10 to 15%
Currently the government can borrow at 2% and even under labour borrowing costs were only 4%

The Omagh bombing, Coventry, there's a long list and many innocent men, WOMEN AND CHILDREN died.

It's not whataboutery that's the problem here, it's your one eyed nonsense.

Just a small point of order, many of the Boer prisoners died of Measles and the British weren't the first to use internment camps, the Spanish were during the "Ten years war" Cuba, 1868-1878.

That means voting Plaid, John. What I have seen and read (including my email exchange with Rhun ap Iorwerth) leads me to believe they are a bunch of clowns.

How will they pay for all their promises? That's before you realise that many of those promises, even if fully funded, cannot be carried out unless Westmisnter transfers powers. That isn't going to happen.

Answer me this John, how will Plaid afford cutting £200 of EVERY council tax bill? There are around 1.4 million households in Wales, that's £280 million less the Welsh government would have to spend. Then the promise for a job for every 16-24 year old, how much will that cost? They promise the Welsh economy will pay high wages, how is that possible? One of my favourites this, Racism, misogyny and other forms of discrimination and intolerance will be eradicated, as desirable as this is how can he promise that by 2030? People will live longer, fitter lives? How, is he going to make being overweight a crime? Is he going to force people to eat healthily and get exercise?

Raed this, John, and tell me which bits of it are actually deliverable,

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-politics-56661044

At every turn he is promising to cut costs and spend more, it's completely cuckoo. Even if he put all council tax bills up by £200 he couldn't pay for all his promises. Then of course, the promise for an indyref in the first 5 years, as if any Westminster government is going to agree to that unless a huge majority in Wales want it.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

An M4 relief road is fine, but nobody will ever convince me that driving at least four lanes of tarmac between North and South Wales, desecrating some of the prettiest landscape in the country would be worthwhile.

Anyway, at this point I'm willing to vote for whatever party promises to abolish minimum unit pricing, as long as it's not Plaid. I do still have some standards.

The last major road scheme before the senedd took over was in 1995 which was the dualling of the heads of the Valleys Road proposed by a Conservative government. Since the Welsh assembly took over it has escalated hugely in costs and is running about 10 years late. Clearly having an economic benefit along the parts completed and with the much delayed opening of the Clydach gorge section will provide some relief for traffic to and from the Midlands.

Funny how the Welsh government has accepted UK taxpayers money to build it when it comes via the EU, but won't accept it ftor the M4 when it comes directly from the UK government. Can Drakeford explain this conundrum ?

Should not the issue of making the main route from north to south Wales be tackled.

It takes 5 hours plu to get from Cardiff to Caernarfon and that ha never changed no matter how powerful cars get. Same with the A483.Apart from the relatively recent Newtown by pass no improvements at all from Chester/Wrexham to Swansea. A pain of a trip unless you have a motor bike.

I travel quite often up to Chester and its environs ,which is not too bad in the winter months This is when holiday traffic is light but a real pain when you're stuck behind lines of caravans and the such like from May onwards, The Newtown pass pass (although 70 years after its was first discussed as much needed ) has made a difference but only for 5 mile or so , the rest south of Wrexham is in desperate need of improving .It would appear the link between north and south doesn't seem to attract the inters of many political parties .We're definitely a nation divided

I spent 40 year negotiating Newton and that Dolfor road. I once drove down on the day of a match and got held up before Llandrindod Well.I ended up taking the Beulah B road but for a passenger, with those dips,it's quite scary ,at least with me driving at speed.
It's great for a bike and when I had my last Blackbird I took my daughter down and reported back to HQ when we got to my mum's in time for mid morning PG Tips and welsh cakes which he bought for me (dont know why as I hated them). Missus checked the time and worked out my average speed. This trip was subject to comments from the previous site and I got pelters as daughter was about 14 at that time and suffice to say it was a fast trip. She enjoyed it though.

What I hated about Swansea was the speed cameras

All history now as I no longer visit.

We lost the farking game too
