Jersey fishermen on 22:37 - May 5 with 1316 views | jack_lord | It's a delicate game right now. I'd love the RN to send the whole fleet and stick it on the French coast bottle necking the French trawlers but diplomatically that is very silly.

We all know that Johnson threw away the UK fishing industry by his lazy brexidiot deal. He cant pretend he cares now. Gove, Mogg and Johnson - oh how they laughed, coming up with this one. Typical of the French and the EU. The French fishermen already breaking the agreement the EU signed and trying to bully an independent Jersey who were never even in the EU. If the French fishermen cannot fill in the paperwork needed to get a licence to fish in Jersey's territorial waters they resort to bully boy tactics . A country of 67 million bullying little old Jersey an independent island of 175,000. No doubt the EU will stick it's head in the sand and ignore the enforcement of their own treaty.

Yes because the French don't honour any agreement made by the EU if it does not suit their agenda. They never have and never will. The EU of course does not impose any penalties on France because they are afraid to upset their second biggest member.

Has anyone worked out how these 2 boats stop France from turning off the electricity that runs along underwater cables ? I mean that is what its all about right ? The press are now the government of the UK. Rows in Scotland, rows in the north of Ireland, and now rows with France. Not to mention the EU angst. Biden hates everything Johnson stands for. Anyone notice a pattern ?

Morning Jae. They are reputed to be yes. However, and I know Im rather different but we've been 3 times and had no issues. The art is to stay well away from the tourist honey pots as regards eating.Montmartre is a shythole really as prime example. We stayed 18th Arrondisement.Eat local every time. I find French people much more friendly that Spanish and Portuguese where the men in particular can be very arrogant,Mourinhoesque. The most unfriendly, unheloful, arrogant people Ive met have been in Montreal and Quebec City. In fact the further into Quebec you go the worse it gets . Excessive warped pride in country and language fascists to boot. Groo might opine different as he lived there

Protecting British waters is the brief, and any issues of conflict that may arise. I can see marines boarding French vessels if they fish unlicensed but that’s as far as it will go.

Jersey fishermen on 12:48 - May 6 with 1033 views | controversial_jack | Apparently, it's the UK that has broken the agreements The row is understood to have started after the UK introduced “new technical measures” linked to licences for fishing off the Channel Islands — a move which hadn’t been communicated to the EU.

The French have been doing it for months, but days before an election the govt have sent a RN vessel to take a look. The Tories will do anything to get votes and stay in power.
