Same for me, I don't really support the Welsh football team I just hope to see a good game. As I just said on the "fav second team" thread, I dont have a second football team, it'd be Welsh rugby or at the moment, the Lions!

My son claims Barcelona are his second team but he's only 12, I'll work on him. Though I have promised, when things are better, to try and take him to a league game at the Camp Nou.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Same here, don't get anywhere near the buzz I do watching Wales as I do the Swans.

You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game

Could tell you don’t support the Swans

I love swansea because it is near my home and is Welsh. 72-73 would still support them presumably if they were moved to Leighton Buzzard. I would not.

Club first and foremost , as it should be

Yes, always Swans first.

Wales being comparatively successful recently has added a new dynamic though. 2016 Euros were brilliant in town and Singleton park. More camaraderie than I’ve ever seen I watching Wales in the 6N/RWC. Partly down to the novelty I guess.

Just a shame we couldn’t do it properly this time. Hopefully we’ll have a World Cup to ram the pubs in 18 months.

So explain to me why excatly you like Swansea just out of interest. I like to challenge concepts to see if I can learn something. The 'Butt' reference suggests some sort of provinence. Possibly 'valleys'.

"Butt" is more of a Cardiff thing isn't it? My brother in law and his friends, all from Cardiff, they always said butt whereas Swansea always seemed more diverse, moosh, mate, pal, fella, I've heard loads of different words used.

Wrong again. They don’t use butt in Cardiff.

The way we feel about our home town is part of our being.
Whether it be an industrial powerhouse ,like mine,or a rural backwater.
When/if we move away, we do so often because we have either no option or the chance to improve one's life. Then matters become more objective. You tend to look at matters through a sepia coloured prism ;it's still "home" but you remember mainly only the good things.

It follows you criticise your home town as you want it to be as it was.Dumb really but it's gut instinct

Nothing can ever beat being young and making your discoveries in life a a child.

I choose to live where I do and love it.It's been good to me.

I would say your home town and all in it is one's spiritual home even though your family home is where you are as of the now.

Therefore,it is ,ha and always will be Swansea City FC for me,like it or not. And often it' not but that is part of being a Jack.

My maternal grandfather had a hard life which ended prematurely .He never left Swansea ,hi home town and he was born with and died with nothing. He always moaned. He moaned about moaning. His match report were legendary. A wonderful man and one of the most miserable buggers you'd ever meet.

RIP TOM

Swansea people and Cardiff people are the same (in most ways actually, townies aren't they) neither tend to use the term 'butt'.

Continually being banned by Planet Swans for Porthcawl and then being reinstated.

Two totally different things.
Swansea are not Wales rivals.
What’s not to get that players play for their club and want to do well so that their country picks them.
They can never choose club or country.
Silly thread.

Of course they are NOT.

Clubs like Swansea have players representing the country so they are linked.

Are you saying that nobody should represent their country?
