His job is to coach a football team, if he’s here to do politics he should stand as the Green candidate in the local elections and we’ll find a football coach.

"It's what people know about themselves inside that makes them afraid" - "In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act" - "The further a society drifts from truth the more it will hate those who speak it"

Not sure anyone cares what party our manager supports. I can't recall who our last ten managers voted for at the ballot box.

I’ve never checked what wing any manager was.

I like right wingers though. Barrie Jones was a hero of mine.

I’m considered right wing on here, yet he sounds very much like me.

I have been vegan for the best part of a decade now, don’t wear any animal products and donate part of my salary to animal welfare charities… my views on the environment are pretty much mirrored in that interview.

Wanting to be kind to all beings on earth isn’t political, it’s just about being a decent human being.

Not sure why you think people wouldn’t like it?

Martin's transfer from MKDons to Swans is not his first transfer, apparently he transferred from the Labour party to the Green party, perhaps the Labour party was not left wing enough

Greens are seen as very left wing these days, is it because the union state has moved further to the right with Boris, Gove, Hancock etc getting massive support from the English or have the Greens moved even further over to the left ?, I wonder if it's a bit of both.

All that matters is he is a good coach and manager.

Trying to impose veganism on the players, if he does of course, may not go down well. I've tried it and it was bloody hard.

Not sure the greens are left or right wing.
They just follow green policies.

I am quite sure most people follow some green policies even if it is just using our recycling bins and approving of renewable energy rather polluting coal.

Tramp, you do understand who the thinkers behind ‘Green’ ideology on these islands were, do you? Men like Jenks, Gardiner, Tavistock, Lymimgton, Northbourne and Massingham; my shelves groan under the weight of their published titles and none of them, not one, has any point of contact with what you would regard as the organised ‘Left.’

For a century ‘the Left’ had precisely nothing to say about the landscape or the environment. It’s laughable to see them clamber aboard the train in the last few minutes and claim to have been the driver all along.

An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.

What is the story with the Greens these days, I think last time I looked they were pro Welsh independence, pro tax rises, pro European Union and pro equality and spreading of wealth.

Their young candidate in Neath last I looked seemed interesting, goes by the name Poppy if I remember, I haven't got time to go checking things out now, quite a few old Labour voters that think Labour have gone too far to the right have been going over to the Greens.

Broad church see. Wales and Scotland calling up English players to improve their teams.

As I said though, the two things that matter are results and performances. In that order for me, the other way around for some.

I’ve got no idea who Cooper or Potter voted for or had for tea. I don’t care, I very much doubt anyone else does either.

Agreed.

Some of the messages directed my way, both on here and private have been hilarious. If not a little unhinged and clearly lacking in any sort of political knowledge.

People are desperate to paint anyone who disagrees with them as racist, far right or whatever nonsense they come up with these days.

- I’m vegan
- huge fan of capitalism and the work hard get rewarded philosophy
- hate communism and socialism, leaning on every version of it from history to tell you why
- hate identity politics and see the person for their personality and not their race, gender or identity
- hate cancel culture and believe everyone deserves a voice
- completely accepting of all people in society and all ways people want to identify, but don’t believe people should be forced to agree that the identity someone feels is the same as they biologically are.
- dislike compelled language a policed thought
- dislike critical race theory and other such teachings which are based on identity and inherited guilt.
- dislike false social justice warriors who find things to fight even when they don’t exist or not requiring a fight in order to feed their need to fulfil a purpose or please their virtue thirsty peers.
- I like the family unit and think it’s incredibly important in children’s development
- support all our emergency services and police service, recognising law and order is a vital part of a community.

That’s my politics in a nut shell.

If that makes me right wing, then happy to be so.

There are no countries on the planet that have universal basic income… for a reason.

I’d go out on a limb and guess that isn’t the reason Russ associates himself with the Green Party. It sounds like it’s their environmental stance, which isn’t affiliated to the right or the left of politics.

It’s simply an environmental issue.

I met her, Tramp. An enthusiastic, starry-eyed little thing she is.

A thin veneer of political knowledge is dangerous, it often means they try and connect the dots when they haven’t got all the dots available to them.

It’s becoming more and more prevalent due to social media. The amount of nonsense I read on there from people that have absolutely no clue on the subject is farcical.

If I hear another moron tell us the benefits of communism and socialism without being able to show a single time it’s worked in history I think my eyeballs will explode.

There is nothing worse than seeing someone in a Che Guevara t-shirt sipping on a Starbucks, iPhone in hand telling people how great communism is.

The very fact they don’t see the irony in a mass produced and monetised Che Guevara t-shirt is hilarious in itself… without even touching upon the items they have in their hands.
