Emma into the semis of the US Open tennis, I don't think a qualifier has ever reached any of the Grand Slam finals, Emma could do it.

You made the point she proved she was better because she beat her, once.

I am saying that it is irrelevant as used Dustin Browns 2-0 record over Nadal to highlight that point.

Raducanu has 3 ITF titles to her name, Sakkari has 8. Both left ITF level roughly the same age. Raducanu hasn't got to the quarter finals or further of any other WTA main tour event other than this one.

She is having an excellent tournament, but its naïve to say she is better than players currently in the top 20 who have consistently performed year in year out. Once she does that, she can stake a claim.

Really excellent from an intelligent, down-to earth young woman. I only hope that she stays humble and doesn't do a Eugenie Bouchard. Being a gifted youngster is one thing, but maintaining course is another, especially with the typically hyperbolic, fawning media ready to pump up anyone's ego. Rusedski called the performance 'worthy of a world-number-one, multiple-grand-slam player'. Cool it, Greg. It was a superb performance from a youngster feeling no pressure. I really hope she wins on Saturday.

As for Dustin Brown, I remember his wins at Halle against Nadal. Caught him cold and at the right time, straight after the switch from clay to grass. The man is crazy!

Emma is 18 and just starting out on the back of the covid pandemic affecting her playing schedule and her schooling also interrupting her schedule, what she is doing is amazing.

I have heard it said by several "experts" that Raducanu is far better than her ranking suggests, due to the fact that she has been unable to climb the rankings due to covid cancelations.

Sakkari was 18 once too and had three times as many titles.

Agree what she is doing is amazing this this week. But that needs to continue before anyone can accurately make any bold claims. We have seen it multiple times before, the only difference before is that Serena used to stop these players making Semis and Finals, now its a lot more open.

Jelena Ostapenko would be the most recent example. Won the French in 2017 at 19/20 years old, destined for stardom and now at 24 cant break into the top 25.

Nothing to do with Covid cancellations, its due to the fact she was only able to enter 2 of the 4 Slams due to her ranking being so low, as well as performing poorly in other ranking events. She had to be given a wildcard into Wimbledon for example.

She is much better than her ranking suggests, absolutely. She is probably a top 30/25 player at this moment in time, her ranking is 150.

It's more of a question of why I made her favorite. You do realise that I drive the majority of the early tennis markets in Europe and Australasia, don't you? It's my job. Companies copy my odds and then the market arranges itself.

But alas, I made her favorite because Fernandez is a good style match up for Raducanu. Raducanu is comfortable trading from the back of the court which is what Laylah tends to do to opponents less comfortable to do so.

All players she has played so far (with the exception of Svitolina) have been power players. Kanepi, Osaka, Kerber, Sabalenka - they all hit massive ground strokes and Fernandez redirects that power to move them around.

Against Emma she will struggle to execute that game plan and will probably have to adapt it. It is the impending reliance on what will be an unfamiliar game plan which gives her the edge here.

Don't the bookies have Raducanu as favourite to win the final Dr P ?, doesn't Fernandez have a higher world ranking, doesn't Fernandez have more wins against top 20 players than Raducanu, hasnt Fernandez been in two junior grand slam finals winning one of them, isn't Fernandez older and has more tennis experience than Raducanu, surely according to your logic you used for Sakkari being favourite to beat Raducanu then Fernandez should be the favourite to beat Raducanu but Raducanu is the favourite which goes against every single thing you have said.

You are no expert you get everything wrong, as proved by you getting the Raducanu v Sakkari match spectacularly wrong, Raducanu won 6-1, 6-4 with no mitigating excuses, you could not have been more wrong if you tried, lol.

I have no idea what you have just typed.

Raducanu has been on the tour for less time, of course she is going to have a lower ranking and less wins against top 20 players. Where did I mention beating top 20 players as the logic to correctly have Sakkari favorite?

The logic I used for making Sakkari favorite was that she was/is the better player and has proven it consistently. She is 26, multiple trips to the latter stages of Grand Slams and consistently in and around the top 20.

I have explained in perfect detail why I have made Raducanu favorite and absolutely none of it is at odds with my point regarding Sakkari. Raducanu also had more ITF level titles than Fernandez, so when playing at the same standard for any length of time - Raducanu has proven to be slightly more successful.

Sakkari was more successful than both at the ITF level of course.

Read it again would be my suggestion.

Where did I get it wrong? Can you point to anything? Or are you just being silly when you are forced to speak to someone who actually knows something on the subject of the waffle you spout?

Dustin Brown also beat Nadal twice, but I was correct to have Nadal favorite both those times too, as he will be again if they meet.

It was correct, as it always was... as it will always continue to be of course.

I didn't think she would beat her, that is your lack of understanding of the notion of odds again. I had no opinions on what was going to happen, only the probabilities of certain events to happen.

I would make ''Coin to land on either heads or to land on the side'' favorite against ''tails'' too, doesn't mean I think it will happen though, it is just the correct equation.

If you are asking me why I correctly made Sakkari favorite.. I explained that already.

Sakkari is the better player, when they have played at the same level for any recordable length of time - Sakkari has performed better. Sakkari has 8 ITF titles, Raducanu has 3 - both left that level at the same age.

Sakkari has proved since that she has longevity at the top echelons of the tour and has consistently put together excellent results. She is fitter, stronger and has a much more expansive game than Raducanu.

Raducanu may surpass what Sakkari has achieved in terms of consistency and longevity, but she has some way to go yet.

I do say, yes.

That opinion you had was correct on this occasion (it had 45.5% chance to be so hardly Nostradamus), however the opinion she should have been favorite is spectacularly wrong. Just the way it is.

Let's get your guesses down on paper before they happen, then we will match them up against the probabilities listed. If you outperform the probabilities over a decent sample size, then come back to me.

Which is why you would lose your money far more often than not, regardless of what you claim. That's just pure nonsense.
