Surely a man of such integrity who posted a clear message on his social media account would not consider such a thing!!!

Talk of Cooper going there and we'd be paid compensation!!!

Surely not, that would have died with him leaving and being paid off.
If it’s right tho, fair play.

Eh? Where are you seeing that? Complete nonsense that we could get any compensation for a manager that has left.

Depends if we ‘paid him off’ when he left or put him on garden leave & are still paying him monthly as per usual.

Swansea almost certainly have come to a financial arrangement. It was a mutual agreement. Cooper wanted to go and Swansea were prepared to let him go. He was not sacked.

This would have presumably meant part or full payment of his outstanding 1 year of contract. It seems to be standard practice to pay in full or part and recover pro rata from the new employer on taking a new post. One outlets said Swansea were still in for the £3m. This seems unlikely to me.

Maybe it nonsense, maybe it’s not? How about watching to see what actually happens before jumping headlong in to another argument?

Arguing? Who’s arguing? Can you point out any argument?

If we had to wait and see what happens before we comment on anything then this place would be very quiet.

I don’t think you quite have the hang of these forums.

Once someone had had their contract terminated… it is nonsense to suggest we get compensation from his next employer.

That’s not an if or but.

If we get money for him then he hasn’t had his contract terminated as reported, that simple. It’s one or the other.

The subject matter is irrelevant. If you start your posts by telling people they are wrong then by nature it’s argumentative. I’ve got the hang of it just fine thanks.

You’ll probably disagree? ;)

Aren’t you telling me I’m wrong to do that then? Seems a bit hypocritical.

However I didn’t say he was wrong. I was making the point that if a manager has had his contract terminated then we have no right for payment for his future services. The notion that this is the case IS nonsense, not an opinion, a fact.

IF we do get payment for him, then he hasn’t had his contract terminated as is still technically our manager. I’m not saying the club hasn’t done this, they may well have.

But that would mean everything we have told regarding his contract being mutually terminated is absolutely incorrect.

I may agree with you, but as the poster has posted it I’ll keep an open mind on it until it’s proven to be nonsense. To call it out as nonsense without knowing if it’s nonsense would be argumentative on my part, even if in my opinion it is nonsense.

So in your opinion it is nonsense and happy to say so. But me pointing out it sounds like nonsense is argumentative?

Makes sense to you I guess.

I said it’s nonsense to get compensation for manager that has left. That’s a fact, it needs no confirmation.

If it’s true then Cooper never left and still under contract.

It makes absolutely no sense.

The only way that can be true if he still has his contract at the club and we were fed a lie that he had it terminated.

You can’t terminate someone’s contract and then ask him to tell his next club to pay them millions if they want him.

We were either lied to or someone has the wrong end of the stick.

Could it be a non compete clause?

And there'd be a fee to buy cooper out of it?

Will break it down.

If we sacked him, we would not be due any compensation.

Mutual termination, we would be entitled to some compensation if he gets a job within the timescale of length of the contract when he signed.

Manager walked out, would be entitled to full compensation within contract length when signed.... Likely negotiation woukd take place.

If he does get a job in the next 8 months then we would get something.

Yep, turns out he never left, still contracted and paid by the club.

It would of course be nonsense that we could get millions in compo for a manager that left the club. Very interesting development.

Which of course adds weight to the thought that we did indeed hold out for a high compensation figure prior to his departure and still felt it necessary to pay him monthly in the hope of protecting what his value was to the club.
