Huddersfield facts, stats, cats, mats and horses
In an era of progression, technology and intelligencia we concentrate on the Yorkshire folk of football. When the first car was seen in Huddersfield they hung it like a monkey left hanging from a north eastern tree. The result was complete horror, for a bit, then the exhaust was removed and they had a big feast. Later the car was moved to a local museum yet to be built. Many people converse with very little words in Huddersfield, basically just nodding at each other saying “I know, I know” Simply explained they know everything. It’s a revelation indeed.

Proof if it were ever needed

Huddersfield has the third highest of number of listed buildings in the country. The population of Huddersfield borough is approximately 270,000 making it the largest town in England. The list was drawn up by Joseph Lister an infection control specialist and list professional. When this was revealed in 1978 the people of Huddersfield already knew this. Other notable things about Huddersfield is they had the worlds largest nodding dog, until all the locals kept nodding at it as it nodded back. Harold Wilson the pipe smoking nasal sounding tobacco head is from Huddersfield.

It’s the weekend Russell Martin has to deliver 24th Sep 2021 17:54
I’m seeing the signs are you ? The extra shots, the braver football, the more dominance of the ball, and players not in the starting eleven being able to come in to the side and do the same, we saw that at Brighton. Yes, it’s all got clarity for me. 0

Swansea City raring to go against Huddersfield Town 25th Sep 2021 09:22
It’s the home game Russell Martin has been waiting for since the goalless returns against Hull City and Millwall. Since then an admirable and spirited fight back against Luton Town, and a back slapping performance with nine team changes against Brighton has been the return. However, today swans fans will want to see goals and points. 0

Swansea City: Ben Hamer; Ben Cabango, Kyle Naughton, Ryan Manning; Ethan Laird, Flynn Downes, Matt Grimes (captain), Jake Bidwell; Olivier Ntcham, Jamie Paterson; Joel Piroe.

Substitutes: Steven Benda, Jay Fulton, Korey Smith, Brandon Cooper, Liam Cullen, Joel Latibeaudiere, Liam Walsh.

Huddersfield Town: Lee Nicholls, Harry Toffolo, Matty Pearson, Jonathan Hogg (captain), Lewis O'Brien, Sorba Thomas, Ollie Turton, Fraizer Campbell, Danel Sinani, Levi Colwill, Tom Lees.

Substitutes: Giosue Bellagambi, Alex Vallejo, Mipu Odubeko, Josh Koroma, Scott High, Duane Holmes, Naby Sarr.

It’s a win at last !

Swansea City turn on the first half style to win their first home game of the season 25th Sep 2021 17:29
It wasn’t a pretty second half but it was a glamorous and scintillating first half that gave the swans all the points this afternoon at the swansea.com stadium. The lack of home wins no longer needs to be mentioned, and the vast majority of Swansea City fans will be more than happy tonight. 0

Yep, fully fit squad to choose from. 12th overall game in charge.

A squad we all seem to feel man for man is certainly a high top half side. At home vs a team on poor form who after a good start, have lost 2 of their last 3 including at home to the would be bottom of the league team (prior to Derby's points deduction yesterday)..

Enough excuses, some tough fixtures coming up (Fulham away next), we need to win this one and start to move away from any kind of scrap at the bottom.

2-0 Piroe and Pato - to make a concerned fan breathe a sigh of relief.

I would have agreed, but Cabango had a bit of a mare yesterday. Didn't see it. Rory Fallons viewpoint on radio.

We need to establish a set in stone starting 11 and team shape asap.

Tinker by all means. But get the foundations right and adjust from there.

If you asked us fans our starting 11 , team shape- you would get a multitude of answers, which is fine. Just think Russ needs to show his cards and start with best 11.

I know we had 18 months of no live football. But I am genuinely excited and cant wait to go to every match at the liberty/ swansea.com

Admittedly only the home ones so far. But I am really enjoying the whole match day experience.

I enjoyed football before covid obviously, but due to the time away, I appreciate it more now. Take it all in. The walk from car to ground, the fans , the atmosphere. It all feels enhanced.

Probably just me, but just appreciating life more and not taking things for granted, which I did before.

Totally agree, I couldn't get used to watching the games without the atmosphere and seeing mates i met up with to go to watch the Swans, but now that we're allowed back, I miss the WhatsApp group wind ups and quips we shared during that period, it was a way of keeping in touch and sharing our views, of which there were many, but as you rightly say, we took it all for granted, and its great to get back to normality.

That's a very good point. I have been in whatsapp mode for last 18 months with my mates, now Swans are back, I have jumped into this football forum and treated it like with my mates. No one here knows me. What I can say to my mates, I cant understandably say here. I have though. I have probably come across as a right twit to many. Apologies. Hopefully as the years pass, you will treat me as a mate and I you.

Its a lot easier chatting/ texting with people you know, knowing their personality and sense of humour, and not being offended when they say things that only mates can get away with

Spot on.

As I said, hopefully as time goes on we all become more tolerant of each other.

I have never blocked a mate. Here OHL and Dr parsomething, I have done that. Nothing wrong with them and I am sure they have lots of friends etc.

In real life I just wouldn't sit in same room with them or sit at same table because life is too short and I have chosen to enjoy mine. Each to their own, I say.

Cabango was not good in the cup game but also as Fallon said he's aright footed player placed on the left and with little help from the midfield (which none had).
I think Martin wants Bennett in the centre of a three and is trying to fit Cabango in. Imo Ben is THE central centre back. But we don't have a left sided CB ( Guehi last year) so instead of trying to get the square peg in to the round hole chnage formation to 4 3 3
But their goals came from our right and comments across the media are suggesting Williams (based on Luton and Brighton) is weak.
Goalkeeper - probably Hamer
Naughton …… Cabango …… Bennet ……. Grimes (did well on the left back position for Potter.
"….Downes ….. Smith ….. Walsh

NTcham "……..Piroe …. Paterson

I'm quite looking forward to tomorrow, that's something i can't be accused of last season. As
one of this countries finest novelists once stated "To travel hopefully is a better thing than to arrive"

Actually WB, I treat everybody the same until I have a reason to do otherwise. I may agree or disagree with you or question you but I will try hard to never say something on here I wouldn't say to your face. We are all Swans fans in the end.

I hope for the win tomorrow. I hope to see Piroe AND Obafemi start and we weigh in with at least 2 more goals than the oppo.

Huddersfield have a few injury worries, we are only concerned about Rhys Williams and that seems to be as much about state of mind and some issues with settling into new surroundings.

The reality is we need the result, for confidence, to give certain fans something positive to say and obviously, for the 3 points!

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Big game tomorrow. 3 points needed. With 2 away matches after tomo, the pressure on such a young team if we lose will not be good.

Need to take our chances and with Pirloe, Ntcham and Patterson I really think we will.
