Perhaps if the French had fired a few more bullets in 1940 in the Dunkirk area, then they wouldn't have been beaten so easily by the Germans.

We are paying France to try and prevent the crossings and I’d imagine there’s lots of gnashing of teeth from London in the direction of Paris in relation to a perceived lack of action given the numbers crossings and the amount of money we’re paying.
I’d also imagine a fair number of the residents of Calais (and surrounding area) would be more than happy to see the back of the migrants and would not want to do anything that would delay or impede their departure from France.
I wonder if this has actually happened, or is the tough action timed to coincide with the Conservative Party Conference? Call me a cynic!! [Post edited 2 Oct 2021 22:07]
