Jordon Garrick struck for Plymouth Argyle who defeated Rochdale 2-1 to reach the third round of the FA Cup.

The Swansea loanee - who operated in a striker role alongside Ryan Hardie - headed home in the 17th minute as the visitors emerged victorious at the Crown Oil Arena.

It was the 23-year-old's fourth goal of the campaign for the Pilgrims while Welshman Luke Jephcott notched a late winner with his first touch for Plymouth after Aaron Morley had equalised for Rochdale.

Garrick - who will spend the duration of the current season on loan with Plymouth - is contracted to Swansea until the summer of 2023.

After the game at Rochdale, Garrick wrote on Twitter: "Safe trip home to the fans, thank you for all your support through a hard period. Into the next round, and on to a big week ahead."

Remember watching an U23’s game a few years ago, and the 2 outstanding talents were him and Daniel James. Let’s hope he pushes on like DJ.

I have to say that it was an excellent header from a very good cross.

A fast direct and ballsy player.
You seriously suggesting Martin would have him.
How hard a trainer is he ?

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not

Learning and developing on loan, nothing wrong with that.
That’s the idea of loans.
If he comes back and doesn’t fit the clubs philosophy it’s time for him to go.
If yes, fantastic, give him a go.

Your comment regards training is pretty much from a time when Larry Lloyd roamed the land 😉

Garrick is fast and always was. In league 2 for two seasona he must have bulked up a little to compete. His weakness it seemed to me was heading and the clip I saw he has improved in that area.

On the bench he can come on and play wing back winger or forward and would be would add pace if the club had a lead and wanted to counter attack.

Wise sage since Toshack era
