Welsh assembly members 10:37 - May 10 with 5661 views | raynor94 | Going to be increased from 60 to 96 members by 2026. Some new troughs are going to be needed to fit all those extra snouts in. What financial crisis

Welsh assembly members on 17:49 - May 21 by felixstowe_jack | Looks like labour are proposing to reduce the number of constituencies in the Senedd to just 16. With each constituency electing 6 members. Voters will no longer be able to vote for an individual candidate or vote an individual candidate out. Looks pretty much an electoral stitchup with smaller parties frozen out. Labour will be guaranteed a majority due to the high density of South Wales valleys, Cardiff, Swansea and Newport. It will be interesting to see who draws up the constituency boundaries. It will almost certainly mean less representation for West, Mid and North Wales. The current 40 constituencies with first past the post and 20 seats elected by proportional representation will be abolished. |
Looks like the end for Plaid in the Senedd then.

Proportional representation abolished? So if the 'pie-in-the-sky' dream of a fully independent Wales became reality it would mean a Labour Welsh government with exactly the same career/professional politicians still in charge of further managed decline.

Basically more of the same dross we've suffered for over 22 years , only now the'll be more pigs feeding at the trough of taxpayers money . "Wales does not need more politicians in Cardiff Bay — we need more teachers, doctors, dentists and nurses. Labour need to start focusing on the people’s priorities".

I think he means that they are stitching up the voting system to make Labours position virtually bomb proof while at the same time guaranteeing the "beloved Leader" will get to choose who we vote for. There won't be any more candidates not 100% approved by central command, they will all be handpicked and approved by the "beloved leader" It's more in the territory of Kim Jong Un and Kim Jong IL than a modern, forward thinking democracy.

Politicians changing the rules to suit themselves, it's getting unsustainable.
