Here we go, apparently people shouldn't work from home because cheese and coffee are too distracting!

https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/boris-johnson-says-cheese-and-coffee-can-d

Alcohol and cake in the political workplace re just fine though and stopping alcohol in Westminster is excessively puritanical according to Kwasi Karteng.

Maybe if ALL our politicians had less alcohol they'd do a better job? Maybe they wouldn't fall asleep in Westminster or say and do such blatantly stupid things.

He’s now been bailed pending further enquiries.

Funny Pikey and Felix haven’t been on here this morning to mention it.

Bailed, a man in his fifties who has been told to stay away from parliament. It won't take long for names to be mentioned, I reckon. That's probably it for his political ambitions then whether he's guilty or not, rape accusations are very damaging.

Obviously I know not whether he's guilty or innocent but I'm not keen on historical allegations. it's hard enough to prove rape when the allegations are fresh but something over 13 years old, where is the evidence? it will possibly turn into one word against another's and that can be damaging enough.

I just hope they get the right result and if he is guilty then to hell with him.

Perhaps Mr Campbell should analyse his and his mates own overly cosy relationship with Mr Murdoch.
It was often said that Blair had more meetings with Murdoch over Iraq than he did with his own foreign secretary. Blair is also godfather to one of Murdochs children.

Campbell is a raging hypocrite.

The amount of people who hang on Campbell's every word now who lambasted him over Iraq is funny as Hell.

Consistency has never been a strength of the left.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

To be fair, consistency isn't really a thing with politicians across the board.

What’s been taking place in Downing Street is terrible. Certain factions of the press have been briefed and have been carrying stories in relation to Sue Gray requesting and having a secret meeting with Boris in relation to the ongoing enquiry. Yesterday we had a Minister of State appear on TV telling us Boris would never interfere in an investigation, but the same Minister couldn’t ( or wouldn’t) confirm who requested the meeting. He knew enough to say Boris wouldn’t interfere but not who arranged the meeting!!! Now you’d think anyone doing the Sunday morning TV shows as a Government rep would be fully briefed, but being Zahawi’s position and not knowing means he doesn’t have to lie for Boris. ( If it comes out he did know he’s toast).

Today we’ve had another Government Minister come out and say Sue Gray arranged the meeting, however it now appears Downing Street are coming clean and have confirmed they asked for the meeting and Sue Gray sent the invite. Apparently Boris didn’t know!

What’s going on in Government is disgusting and we need root and branch reform, we need standards commissioners who are independent of government, who can investigate allegations of wrong doing at MP and Ministerial level, it’s outrageous that investigations need the “nod” of the PM.

We need transparency and accountability at all levels of government, Westminster, Senedd, County Hall Swansea and all the other places where we hav3 elected officials and quangos. These are matters are “not negotiable”

yes major, that drum has been banged on here several times. I've banged it myself but I also qualified it by adding that the very people we need to make the changes are themselves the problem.

None of these greedy, self serving, shameless hypocrites are going to vote for the kinds of changes we need.

The few decent ones will be washed away by the torrent of filth that is stagnating in all our political institutions.

The next election could be in 2025 , Boris won't lead the Tories into the next election , he is holed below the waterline and an election liability now , the party knows it , he knows it , he just doesn't want to be forced out in disgrace , he will try and hang on as long as he can and sometime before the next election he will find an excuse to quit and make it look like its his decision and on his terms

You could well be surprised about Boris and the next election, possibly he will still be in charge. As much as the press highlight news the public often want to just move on. Obviously if the Tories fear losing they will drop him but it will be more about things that are relevant at the time. Many have already moved on from covid.

Good job he led the country in getting the vaccine much faster than the EU. He has also led West Respone in imposing sanctions on Russia and arming the Ukrainians.

While Germany, France and ROI dithered.

Poll: Sholud Wales rollout vaccination at full speed.

Well done the carring Conservatives. Kept 12 million from the dole queues with their generous furlough payments. Help the poorest and disadvantaged section of society to get through the global energy crisis with payments far in excess of what the Lib Dems suggested. Even Labour and the SNP agree.

What happened to Clare Drakeford, Victoria Starmer, Peter Murrell (Mr Sturgeon ). Like Carrie none of them are elected politicians so are entitled to a private life.

Peter Murrell by the way is chief executive of thr SNP.
