Oxford United v Swansea City : Matchday Thread 22:48 - Aug 5 with 15122 views | NotLoyal | The EFL ( League ) Cup really doesn’t matter now, but it does when you win it. This is the official matchday thread, and one day it will be history. Yes it’s the Franck Tabanou waste of space and time Oxford United away thread. TUESDAY AUGUST 9TH 2022 : Kick Off 7.45pm We are advised the game is accessible on iFollow. Jonjo Shelvey less than gracefully ends his Swansea City career 8th Aug 2022 09:00It was six years ago, but Sunday January 10th 2016 signalled a cross roads for numerous players and staff at Swansea City. An odd date you may think ? Not if you are Jonjo Shelvey, Francesco Guidolin, Alan Curtis or even Franck Tabanou. The latter never played a league game for Swansea City but will be forever remembered for an FA Cup appearance for the swans. 1 Oxford United manager - Swansea can fly up the table 9th Aug 2022 13:58Karl Robinson comes from the same football school as Russell Martin, he has a vision of a passing game that excites and is different to the normal fayre served up by many clubs. The Oxford boss isn’t fooled by recent Swansea results, and knows the style of play will come good. 0 Another disastrous night for Russell Martin and Swansea City 9th Aug 2022 22:37Two circus type goals from Oxford United signalled more misery for Russell Martin at the Kassam Stadium in the EFL Cup tonight. The first a calamitous error by keeper Steven Benda, the second a ridiculous deflection from an Oxford United free kick. And all this after Swansea looked to be coasting to their first win of the season. 0 From next Saturday we will carry the main thread on the second post ðŸ‘

Oxford United v Swansea City : Matchday Thread on 22:02 - Aug 9 with 1973 views | bonymine | Since Saturday it’s been a difficult time with all things Swans related but tonight must surely represent the nadir of everything we stand for and Russell Martin has to go NOW !! If we can’t ‘game manage’ a win from a 2-0 up position against a League 2 team then sadly we need to remove the whole coaching team IMMEDIATELY !. If you can present a positive post match interview after that Russell then you are most certainly as deluded as we thought you were all along.

Oxford United v Swansea City : Matchday Thread on 21:54 - Aug 9 by raynor94 | Amazing, you never posted during the game, did you actually see the Oxford goals? Sadly you do give the impression you like to see us lose. And you make out you are the injured party on here. |
You seem annoyed because he has proved himself to be more clued up than you, you rated Martin and he told you not to if you had listened to him then maybe you would not be getting so agitated. [Post edited 9 Aug 2022 22:03]

Oxford apparently made a few changes too mind. Martin will have believed the team was strong enough to win. One of those goals wasnt a freak either, we have seen many similar goals this last year, gifts to the oppo courtesy of a stupid iideology that is killing us.

Of course it was a freak goal, Benda dallied, and hit it straight into him. Disappointing to go out yes, but it won't define our season.

Oxford made 8 changes (to our 7) and had multip;le teenagers starting. One only turns 18 tomorrow. Nice present for him. Sorinola looks like he could do with 6 months in the u21s but we're so short of wide players maybe we have to put up with it. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Martin is becoming a specialist in losing comfortable leads. One senses the first act a new manger would do would be to bring Bennett back from the wilderness.

I'm not defending the substitutions, but they were 2 freak goals, that you can hardly blame him for.

Rotherham was unlucky, Saturday was horrendous, tonight is neither here nor there, would’ve been good to win for a bit of confidence but it’s a totally different side. Saturday and the games for the rest of august will tell us whether Martin has any chance. I’d give him till then, suspect Board may move towards the end of September if nothing changes.

If we don't sack him now the new manager will not have any time, zero wriggle room, to bring anyone in.

Rotherham wasn’t anything to do with luck. It was poor technique from Obafemi, took his eye off it and made poor contact. Rotherham also failed to score many times, forced Fisher into more good saves than his opposite number. If Rotherham strikers were more clinical they would have had a couple more. Draw was fair against the side favourite to come bottom.

Think another reminder on posting personal attacks is due. We should be united not divided Some need to get real and accept matters as they are. And what they are. Today it was Oxford United after being 2-0 ahead. They score late. Now that seems to have happened before but nobody has the simple guts to say so,apart from me and a few others. Kero and Dr P ,far more articulate than,I have absolutely nailed it as regards Russ

Bad teams tend to make bad mistakes every week. Fulton inexplicably on Saturday Benda inexplicably tonight. Benda had a big chance and messed up. Nothing to do with the style of play.

I'm not agitated in the least, just find it sad in people taking pleasure in us losing. I support the club, and have for more years than I care to remember. I have given Martin my support from day 1 which any supporter would, let's see where we are after 10 games. Bottom 3 I can't defend him

I'm sorry but that's rubbish. The mistakes are not "inexplicable", they are the direct result of Martin's patterns of play. The same mistakes keep happening regardless of the personnel.

But you are making that up in your head in order to get agitated at someone other than the manager. I reckon in the last week you have said more things about those recognising Martin’s negative effects on the club rather than Martin himself. It could well be anger that is compelling OHL to post when we have just put in an awful display, yet you have internationally interpreted that as pleasure in order to have an angle of attack. Why do we have to see where we are after his 63rd game? Seems an odd number to pluck out of the sky. Isn’t where we are now and where we have been for the last 12 months enough to go on then?

They're not freak goals. They may be freak in the context of EVERY football match played. They're not freak goals when the sample of goals you're examining against is goals conceded by Swansea City under Russell Martin. We see a goal conceded from a defensive mistake related to a poor pass in our third of the pitch every few weeks.
