Players no training Sunday or Monday 09:02 - Aug 9 with 4015 viewsDr_Parnassus

Had some info today that the players didn’t report for training Sunday or Monday. Came in for light training at 9am this morning before Oxford. Are you able to confirm Keith?

After such a calamitous performance you would think there would be some major debrief or deconstruction as to what went on.

But no, same old same old carry on as you were. I suppose in his mind we had more possession so it’s nothing to worry about.

We heard him say “they had 4 shots on target and scored from 3 of them” as if it was unfortunate, he really cannot see anything wrong with his management.

Seriously concerning now.

Haven’t had any info, Sunday would be a day off, although they generally travel the day before a game I would think this one tonight is doable in one hit. I haven’t asked the question, so don’t know the logistics for today 👍

A day off would be right so they could reflect on just why they haven't the guts to stand up to this coach ,starting with the captain

To say they need to work hard in order to correct things and then have two days off is a joke though.

No analysis, no scrutiny - nothing. You can only assume then that there will be no change or not corrections and just banking on Oxford not being very good.

You wouldn’t guess it’s a team that hasn’t won since the beginning of April.

It’s not acceptable.

Its not a new thing, there is always a day off on Sunday and Monday is light duties, maybe an iced bath and a rub down, especially if there's a midweek game.

After such an awful performance on Saturday they should have been made to come in Sunday.

Obviously what was put in place in training wasn't put into practice as Blackburn kept running.

Making players do extra work after a defeat is counter-productive. Proper rest is just as important to performance as proper work.

Punishing players for bad performances by driving them into the ground is old school stuff, you don't see it often any more for good reason. The Championship schedule is tough enough as it is.

Premier League squads. Chelsea were at the end of the season and were out of Europe.

We're playing Sat-Tues-Sat-Tues-Sat. Training will be planned out. Sunday is for recovery and analysis. Some players will be doing another 90 today so minimal flogging yesterday.

I am hoping the likes of Benda, Brandon and Ollie Cooper, Garrick Cullen Joseph and Williams can play well and get the managers attention.

Yeah this isn't a thing to kick them for, a recovery session on the day before a Tuesday game is standard.

it didn't have to be a training session though, they could have been told to come in and watch the game back, analyse it and try to figure out what happened. As if we didn't know. Maybe that's why it didn't happen, they ALL know what went wrong.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Don't make the analysts come in early on a Sunday (or work late Saturday evening), they didn't do anything wrong!

Clearly certain first team names have not been taken to Oxford and those that are playing had a lengthy briefing session for tonight’s game yesterday. He lives and dies by his decisions.

Exactly probably have tomorrow & Thursday off as they have a bus trip to Blackpool Saturday.

The players need to be ripped a new arsehole.

Doesn’t have to be physical exertion.

Some form of group meeting to go through what went wrong would be the very minimum I’d expect. Yet there was nothing..
