Swansea City ready for low baller Joel Piroe bids 23rd Aug 2022 19:57
Swansea City are readying themselves for bids for their out of form striker Joel Piroe. Sources we speak to close to the club have stated there is a genuine belief that bids far short of what the club would accept will be made in the coming week. And they also believe half of the eighteen million pounds the swans want may well turn the majority owners heads. 1

Has to be a minimum £12m plus at least £6m add ons.
Anything less will be another kick in the teeth from the owners to the fans.

It is going to be a lot less what is this has to be all about lol when will people learn.

Agree here we'll probably take 4-5m now. It's only our fans believed he was worth 15-20m. No club did otherwise we would have been snapped up.

No point selling him at that level. He has at least two years left so he can be sold next summer or in January. Martin from what we understand only needs to sell him if he wants new signings. If he is sold cheaply it is Martin's decision.

In my opinion there is no need to sell him to be replaced by loans. Martin is a wheeler dealer type manager it seems to me, who may want transfers for transfers sake. E.g, Fisher for Benda. Sorinola for Garrick Darling for Bennett. 7 or 8 new signing every season. Potter made things work and used some pretty average players t good effect. Baker Richardson leading the line got good wins v away at Millwall and v aston Villa.

Signings are not the answer. Ollie Cooper and Congreve are chomping at the bit to line up alongside Joe Allen.

If a Premier League club want him it is because they believe he can do a good job in the Premier League.
Premier League strikers cost £15m+

We will get bent over though because Martin has fallen out with him and done such poor transfer business that he is now in a corner and is desperate for cash.
The board will be left with the dilemma that if they don't sell him Piroe will post it in until he can leave on a free, but Martin falling out with Piroe and screwing up the squad means they can't play hard ball.

Whoever takes him off us, on the cheap is taking advantage of us and picking up a bargain.
If we had sacked Martin and a new manager had the back end of last season and the summer to start to put things right we would be in a much stronger position to get what Piroe is worth.

You are a misguided fan that has a grudge against Jenkins. Jenkins ran the club impeccably for 15 years the greatest years of the clubs history.

Fans dislike the man on the basis of one administration failing in 15 years and a perceived mistreatment of the Supporters Trust. The same Supporters Trust that led their member up a long winding and expensive six year path to obscurity and surender. The myth fans have bought in to ran out of gas and was fake.

Shamefully they have

a) invested less in Swansea city than their investment in London advisors.
b) Probably put less cash into the club than a famous US actress
c) Taken over 2 times possibly 4 times more money out of the club than they ever put in.

Now you are suggesting Swansea's £28m for Bony was £10m short. Swansea are trying to recreate the successful years. Jenkins himself recreated it with Potter but was chased out by the fans and the Trust. Given time he would have got it right. It was not so easy as everyone is painfully finding out.

You might have noticed Winston and I are not exactly chums but he is dead right here and you are pitifully wrong.

It's that simple

We are in the age of spin and narratives. The narrative as created on forum with planted posters and cultivated over a decade. Quite impressive work in fact. As you know from personal experience on this site and others the hounds were set on any one that did not toe the line. Bully abounded, supported by banning (for being boring) on jump up charges.

You have been dip fed this nonsense your self but with you maverick ways were able to stay detached from the ludicrous 6 year dash to ago to court and give other owners who actually invest in the club whopping legal bill wasting millions of the Trust' s potential money and enriching the English white collar elite.

Indeed, and this was always coming as soon as the yanks got to the bottom of the jewellery box. Once Piroe goes who are they going to run to Cash 4 Gold with then? There will be no one left to flog and they will not invest their own money. Mr Wonga.com (Jake) might be back with a generous loan plus interest offer all whilst increasing the clubs debt. Which, in turn will put off prospective buyers or attract a risky takeover format - see Resloven’s beloved Burnley example which he seems to have gone quiet on recently.

Nice bid £10m and they turned it down. He's in his final year so clubs more likely to be willing to wait. Continental sides will be on the phone to his agent on 00:01 New Year's Day if he isn't sold this window.

The intentions of the owners will be clearly defined with one event. The CONVERSION of the convertible loan note. It will then be an investment (of their own money).

Piroe was bought by US money from the loan. And Downes. Piroe and downes money woill go to Winter and the club not the owners for loan repayment.

Silverstein and Levien called it an 'investment' not a loan as it Winter. The loan part was simply to fast track it and allow a back door exits (perhaps if they were going to be taken to court in an ill thought out legal process).

If they take their money back the club will have a debt not only theory but actually having to pay cash back. Winter does not have it.

Silverstein will not have fulfilled the pledges he made to the fans if that happened. All the indication are he will convert and become an owner not just a creditor.

If it is converted there is no debt to pay as they will have bought club shares with it and diluted the non contributing parties.

Anything can happen I could be wrong . We shall see.
