I know there are bigger problems in the world but… 17:17 - Jan 28 with 1126 viewsGwyn737

On my 12 mile journey home from watching kids football this morning, there were 4 separate incidents of cars on the side of the road with burst tyres from potholes.

Down by me, it’s becoming a lottery whether you can actually get to your destination without a puncture?

Is this the same everywhere?

It's like driving on the moon around Swansea, they aren't potholes but craters

You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game

The last one I hit cost me over £200 for a tyre and second hand alloy, just before Xmas.

Makes you wonder how bad they have to get before something is done?

Not a dig at anyone but if you hit or see a pothole are you reporting it unless people complain then they won't know

It’s so bad here Jim, there’s a Facebook group set up to collate them before sending on bulk to the council.

Yeah try phoning the council. Press one for this press sixty nine for that. Actually speaking to a human being is an achievement in itself. Then they say you’re phoning the wrong department so they have to put you on hold for seven hours.

Perhaps it might have been a good idea to have taken several photo's of the pot hole site and made a claim against the Council, I've heard that happening in the past.

If you report them all the council will do is send someone out to fill the hole with tarmac. The repair tends to last a couple of months at best. It's a total false economy.

Unfortunately the mentality of Swansea council is such that they almost see potholes as a bonus traffic calming measure. Woodfield Street in Morriston had several significant potholes in it but they ignored them and installed several utterly pointless speedbumps instead. No doubt they'll last a good few years.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

The issue is you add all these problems up it’s why people get p****d off in this country.

As others have said they come along with a bit of tarmac & it’s back in no time.

I think you have to prove they already knew about it to be able to litigate, I usually report the pot holes via a 3rd party site so it’s fully reported and traceable.

Good luck with your claim.

Mentioned it to the missus whilst driving today, I think it's bad everywhere.

The problem is most councils are on the bones of the @rses.

yeah no money for road repairs but money for traffic calming and for trips abroad.

I am on the A465 quite often and passing the MacDonalds, the slip road out of there looks like Putin has shelled it. On Winifred road in Skewen the potholes have potholes and the local council leaves the lights on in Skewen parks car park overnight for securiyt reasons yet no once can see the car park from the road, there are trees behind the houses so they can't see it and there are no cameras....just why? So the hooligans can see what they're vandalising? it's not their money though so they don't care.

Skewen has a mayor, seriously, WTF!!!!

Skewen was once oft quoted as the biggest village in the UK , I can't think why . It does have its own railway station and Carnegie Hall in the form of a library . More importantly my father's side were all born and buried there so maybe that's the reason a Mayor is needed .
