Taken off but I have to say, he looks a very decent player indeed.

Hopefully he can stay injury free and I have no doubt he can add something to us.

What did Walsh do on Tuesday then? perhaps you can help one of the less intelligent ones out and educate me.

Its not his fault he breaks down, there's been loads of players who have suffered the same fate Daniel Sturridge is one that springs to mind.

He did ok. Nothing special, nothing rubbish.

Ntcham was the only midfielder we had who looked like he wanted to make anything happen. I praised him on Twitter before the game, only to be shouted down by people who think the sun shines out of Grimes' arse.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

It's kinda weird seeing people say that any player is "neat and tidy but doesn't do much" when Grimes plays every minute of every game.

You got a complete dislike for Grimes though so your view is biased in fairness, I don't think Grimes is particularly good enough to help move us forward and definitely not as a Captain, even though he's been an ever present under several Managers and is rarely injured, he's definitely had moments nobody can deny that.
Unless they to lack intelligence.

He's been ever present under three managers who have failed to achieve promotion. That isn't quite the own that some people seem to think it is.

I don't hate Grimes. I've said many times that I think he has ability. I just don't think his contribution matches his reputation.

Neat and tidy then?

Ntcham was best player on the park for 70mins or so, until he tired.

I wasn't one who shouted you down, as I've no interest in Twitter whatsoever.

I'm not a Grimes fan in any shape or form never have been, the subject matter is Walsh though, as I said in an earlier post, that is, lets see him have a run of games and see what he's got the unfortunate cavat in that is if he can stay injury free, he must be truly frustrated with his bad luck with injuries, he seems to be strong willed enough to have coped over the years with the injuries he's suffered in fairness to him, I hope he gets some luck to get his career going again.

I think you need to make the distinction between injury prone and basically knackered.

I'm thinking that a player like James Thomas was injury prone. A very good forward who could have played higher than he did, but unfortunately had a tendency to pick up knocks. Compare and contrast to the likes of Ashley Williams or Matt Grimes who are basically indestructible.

Bodde didn't have much of an injury record before receiving one serious bit of damage that sadly never healed to the point where he could resume a profession as physically demanding as professional sport.

Where is the moment which defines injury prone and knackered ,I used Bodde as an example that prior to his last final injury he had about two years worth of in and then out again then knackered

I don't recall Bodde missing many games before he did his knee in through injury. Suspension for sure, but not injury.

I find it weird that players are written off before having a reasonable chance .

He has been at the club nearly 2 years.

The average career is only 8 years in total.
He was never fit at Bristol City.

Walsh has a reputation as a talented player but one made out of papier mache.

Have never understood why such players get blamed for their own faulty genetics. Tends to be the less intelligent types who do it.

Dont be too hard on yourself.

People here are suggesting that his injury after injury backdrop was obvious and so he should never have been signed. Nothing to do with the player.

Swans cant afford good money sat in the stands.

Praying that this lad stays fit, looks to be a very decent footballer and noticed a couple of times that he is not afraid to get stuck in.

Played a delightful reverse lift pass from about 30 yards out, not sure who the player at the end of the pass was but he wasn't far off it.

Walsh played well today, for someone who hasn't played much, Walsh really was putting a big shift in right until he got subbed.

An argument against this is that Swansea could not pay the required transfer fees and big wages for really talented players that do not come with injury concerns.

Ideally you sign a talented player who is over the worst and now kicking on or the club organises special training routines for specific players so as to not agitate weaknesses.

Has Martin been really lucky with injuries (only Benda out) or is the training regime and sports science contributing.?

This was something we done well in the past....signing players with a bit of a track record that have not pushed on.

Be it a track record with potential or injury.....players like Dyer, Routledge and Sinclair.

One swallow doesn't make a summer but two decent performances on the trot from him and as someone else posted wasn't afraid of the physical aspect of the game .

There was one tackle in the first half right on the touchline which summed up his commitment , he was well up for it today

Ex Bristol player, I wondered at the time if there was a bit of history there.

He came off the front line well to receive the ball and similar to Ntcham was able to choose whether to turn or lay the ball, our midfield was more compact so they had more options available to them and player weren't isolated.
