Nobody in their right mind would think that, but at the end of the day its 3 points, why not just be happy with that.

Watched it with one of the boys who hasn’t seen us play for ages who actually asked if Grimeswas playing. Amazing how everyone views his performances differently
| This is Patches O'Houlihan saying "Take care of your balls, and they'll take care of you." |

Like Naughton , I've never seen him as a great or a must keep He has talent but he lacks pace and courage really The balls to really drive forward and take a shot instead of actually stopping and passing sideways or backwards I've been staggered at the love for him He's earning a very nice living out of our club

| Rotherham United v Swansea City : Match day thread on 09:27 - Dec 10 with 1399 views | RichardO | Would say they had some good players in parts of the park and in the first 17 mins caused us problems creating some opening by playing to balls to feet but they lacked the pace to do us any real harm down to ten men they successfully tried to gain field position on the pitch to earn free kicks or throwing ins which to say the least it took us time to get to grips with but as they pushed on sensing blood their poor defence was exposed. Our passing game out from defence is too slow and won't change with the personnel in that starting line up. The central pairing of Cabango and Darling is a strange one they are most probably the most effective aerial threat in the opposition's box but in our own seem to let goals in at set pieces. Cabango seemed to get to grips with their centreforward and looked quite comfortable today maybe a little too comfortable getting caught in the corner but overall his foot work seemed more assured, Darling seemed unable to deal with the centreforward aerially more intent on wrestling him than the location of the ball in the air and I could understand the Rotherham commentators calls for fouls. I have concerns with regards to Darling's attitude on the pitch in respect to him berating his own players while not concentrating on his own duties and his approaches to officials leaving himself open to silly bookings. We seem to have to use too many players in close proximity to walk the ball out of defence which leaves us isolating the eventual recipient of the ball in space hence the return of the ball back to the defence ok yesterday was different against 10 men but how often against 11 men have we seen the same type of slow play eventually leading interceptions of slow balls and being punished by better players than yesterday's opposition. As for the inclusion of Naughton in the squad his Premiership experience must make him look good on the training field but surely we must have better cover for Key who is returning from injury and I was worried about a number of knocks he took maybe hanging onto the ball as he looked for options that were not forthcoming, isolated as previously mentioned? Will he be fit enough to pkay 90mins against Stoke? What can be done to change things Duff went from one extreme to another long balls to slow cautious balls, he swapped the style of play to accommodate both in a period in the middle with a little bit of success until changing the style against Leicester but never revert back although unable to as he did lose Patino and Key in that period after the Leicester game most probably our two most influential players and he then his job. | | | |

Your mention of Naughton is very apposite as it shows perfectly just how bad are those who give e tended contracts to players a good four years beyond their best ,whatever that was. To give another simply because he trains well is laughable or sick ,or both. To bring back Joe Allen another massive expensive mistake borne out of pure sentiment and pressure from elements of our fan base . Joe,as we knew him,is shot to pieces'as was Bony when he came back . We are not learning . It is about recruiting . I’m watching united against a magnificent Bournemouth . Bournemouth ffs, tearing the Entitled Ones to pieces and this a club with a ground capacity of less than 11000. Their billionaire chairman can only put the funds in though ,the rest is up to the coaches and players and they recruit remarkably well,as do Brentford FC , a basically meaningless London suburb with a loyal fan base surrounded by massive clubs with huge wealth . However their coach ,obnoxious as he is, truly knows what he is doing and who to get and get rid of.A remarkable club .Both. And look at is now. We could do so much better even with this squad . We score when we are direct . Why then do we literally stroke the ball 1 yard to each other less than 12 yards from our goal line . Leading this madness is our “ captain”. We could have scored a season best goal yesterday and that was by moving the ball swiftly forward . We can do it. We should do it . Yes,our owners are questionable but on the pitch,it’s down to players and coach .

The thing that we have seen over a number of years is that we can stroke the ball around nicely even leading to perfect goals, but defensively we have a weakness that depending on oppositions tactics can be readily exposed, you could say we have bought players in to cover our weaknesses the likes of Wood, Darling , Key, Pedersen, Tymon, Tjoe-A-On, the loans of Humpreys and Ashby to add to the likes of Cabango, Obgeta, Naughton and Lissah but given injuries and players not considered up to the job we still seem weak but is that because we are playing with too many players dropping too deep inviting pressure onto ourselves while insolating players out wide and further up the park.

It seems we play deep because we don’t have enough pace in the turn. Balls over the top cause us problems, that Leeds second goal being a prime example.

| Rotherham United v Swansea City : Match day thread on 12:18 - Dec 10 with 1219 views | SullutaCreturned | Well I watched the highlights and we were lucky. Patino's goal was lucky but to even it out, their goal definitely cam of his arm. We again had plenty of possession but no clue how to break through their defence and create good chances. We did it once for Lowe who drew a good save out of their keeper. They were down to 10 men though and for chunks of the game you'd have been forgiven for thinking it was us with 10, like when they scored. We won't know how good Sheehan cobe unless we give him a chance but does anybody on here want him given the rest of the season? | | | |

Personally, I wouldn’t. Too much risk in that. There’ll be risk in any appointment obviously but it needs to be minimised.

That will be a problem to any team that pushes up the pitch and Humphreys inexperience showed, allowed the player to get on the wrong side of him. Humphreys seems to have pace as does Key it is a case of how do we use it. The question that should also be asked is how did the Leeds player have so much time to look up and pick his pass.

Some say the owners are investing a lot of money in the club. I will just put this out there, if they didn't make so many mistakes they wouldn't have to invest so much.

| Rotherham United v Swansea City : Match day thread on 17:46 - Dec 10 with 945 views | jasper_T | I think everyone was hoping after they went down to 10 that we'd put a couple of goals past them early on and Key could come off on the hour for Sam Parker, save his legs while he's still building back from injury, and give the young lad some experience against the worst team in the division mid-injury and manager crisis. In the end we couldn't afford to think to Tuesday let alone longer term and needed Key to play the 90. | | | |

Yep and there are plenty of them on here, not as many as there once was mind you, started to try and educate them on the plight and demise of the club a few years back and they just could not see it and as the club drifts down even more there are quite a few who still can`t see it.

I know it would put Parker in a tough position to start on Tuesday to rest and protect Key but would it be better than the alternative of Naughton or shifting Darling out on the right again. There is still the question of the deep lying midfield.
