The positive was Ronald, the negatives is sadly Jerry Yates who again missed an absolute sitter in the first half. He wasn’t totally to blame as the same happened in the second half for substitute Charlie a Patino. The other concern has to be the low turn out from the home fans. With lots of empty seats if there were 14,500 there I would be surprised. 0 Morgan the organ plays the right tune. Click above.

so we were told..... Maybe if Martin had been a proper man manager thing's might have been different. people forget Whittaker was dropped/sidelined after scoring a hat trick....I've known lots of amateur playe rs who have been peed off dropped in similar circumstances....maybe those of us who have played sport and experienced similar can identify...especially when being young

I believe all what our coaches say, Don’t you? I mean Obefemi was a “ good person” wasn’t he ,as was Pato when he was sulking before getting another deal. Those who don’t sulk get better deals ,like Grimes and Naughton, then laugh all the way to the b@no whilst their fans laid them as legends. Only our fans can do that .

Fair point, I think bringing him back last January was a big mistake. I think our owners where hoping for a bidding war between Plymouth and Rangers.🤷♂️

We do not see what all the coaches see in training etc. A young professional being paid a good wage should have knuckled down and earned his place. Also Martin seemed to be trying to work with a player that the owners wanted to sell. I prefer to believe the views from the editors on here to other ITKs. I believe it has far more creedence and is researched properly before being discussed in the editorials on here

Irrelevant. We lost again. If Whittaker had never been a Swansea player it wouldn’t have made a hoot. We can’t beat a team with zero away wins all season under this lot.

Training different to games Great trainers ,like Naughton, are irrelevant ,as he was today. The fact he ,Grimes and Fulton are selected define why we are where we are . A huge striker in the bench A live wire Ronald clearly able to go past defenders and cross has Jerry forking Yates to complete his pass. Any coach allowing that deserves questioning l It is insane People want to deny the obvious is fine but Love this. Lib and don’t want us to go down. Clearly sone aren’t arsed . If they were, they would be as indignant as my irrekevant self. We are in Schtu k We were before Christmas . It should set off alarm bells. Some are not he@ring them. very true but that doesn't stop poster having a go at players such as Fulton,Cabango when the coach picks them....as the manager /coach sees them in training. Funny how we seemed to have so.many troublesome players Obafemi, Whittaker...as I said a good man manager could handle this all workforces have problem employees often they also are the talented ones good man managers know how to deal with the personalities and harness the talent

im fairness Williams had little to choose from today so Naughton was picked...injuries to Key and Darling forced his hand. Naughton for me didn't let us down today and played better pthan I believe Ashby has off late

You’re a good poster Vet h as you keep to topic. It’s not easy. I often fail. I’ve posed questions that are held by many ,clearly. Some cannot or will not face up to what is really going on. We cannot have Grimes as captain any longer We cannot select Fulton unless we want to actually lose We should neve pick Naughton, ever. Woood should never be expected to play pretty as should Cabango . Today, the injury affected Pole did ok as did the Arse kid and Ronald was outstanding .A beacon of joy in all this fog of crap. We will sell him well before his contract is up. He will make people get out of their seats . He looks @ wonderful spirit .

Well, true . However ,I. Old make. Case out he ,like Grimes slowed play . He is vulnerable to anyone with any pace ,for a start. I stand by what I say ,every word. He should not be playing for us . Disagree, that’s fine .

Naughton was absolutely fine today. Especially playing behind Ronald, who was an absolute outlet but doesn’t track back and help his fullback out.
| As if by magic : The Swans throw it away again on 20:54 - Feb 3 with 1640 views | theloneranger | One bad pass in a game doesn't make a player bad. We played 96 mins today, and Naughton had a good game, linking up with Ronald, and in defence. | |

Not sure what you are babbling on about ? Managers and their coaches obviously see things in training and on the pitch in a game (and off it) which lead them to make the decisions they do. We all like to play Football Manager on here as with every other fanbase in the world. Some like Richard O and several others are more insightful than average Joe's like me. However none of are professional coaches or ever have been involved in the professional game (as far as we know - may be some behind the usernames} So goes without saying that the people at the clubs IMHO know far more than us and are best to judge the situations. Like all of us, they may not come up with the right ideas and decisions, but no doubt even Pep gets it wrong quite often

He’s not that vulnerable to pace as he’s experienced enough not to expose himself to it. You may not rate him, but he’s a very strange player to single out from yesterday.

Every player makes mistakes which is why we are where we are, the trick is not to compound those mistakes with poor structure within the team which doesn't covers those mistakes sometimes we get away with things sometimes not. Sometimes the mistakes are cause by the lack of movement giving no options to the player on the ball or players trying to force things to happen. Naughton will not be the answer as there are plenty of wingers who will relish being up against him although Cabango was quickly across to help him successfully when it looked as if the winger was going to have a go at him, team work seeing the dangers and reacting to them, I thought Ronald was on top of everything that was happening around him we need players to learn off his example.

Key when fit again playing behind Ronald will be massive for us and will rejuvenate our season.

I thought Naughton had a tidy game but tired s desperately in the last 15 minutes, sloppy passing, but he was the one who made the few incisive passes which created the chances for Ronald to get past his man into space behind the defence

Obviously he has to play when fit, but I’m not sure how that combination will work. You can’t overlap a pacy winger who doesn’t cut inside and gets on his bike every time his fullback has the ball. Maybe Key will have to make runs inside. I thought Ronald combined well with Naughton yesterday, who looked for the run and played him in a couple of times without piling forward himself.

As you say I can see Key cutting inside similar to what Tymon does on the other side. We are going to have attacking options everywhere except up top. [Post edited 4 Feb 2024 13:54]
