Swansea City v Watford : Positivity and Sheehan’s dilemma 23rd Aug 2025 08:00
It’s a 12:30pm kick off at the Swansea.Com this afternoon. There’s plenty of tickets remaining and with it being a Bank Holiday some would say that maybe a few more should be in attendance. There’s plenty of hope as the Swans look to take the sting out of the Hornets and go in search of their second league win of the season. 0

The Swans fresh on the back of 1-0 victory last weekend against Sheffield United take on Watford this afternoon at the Swansea.Com (12.30pm) Plenty of tickets remain for this EFL Championship clash. 1

Swansea City 1 Watford 1 : Vipotnik answers his critics as the Hornets cheat their way to a point 23rd Aug 2025 16:41
It was an unsure and pretty lethargic effort by the home side in the first period this afternoon at the Swansea.com stadium. The first half exposing the Swans lack of intent and energy, the second half dominated by the Swans from sixty minutes onwards. 0

Just hope we get more fans. We have won 8 out of our last 11 home matches since Sheehan took over. Let us support the team and new manager/coach.

Could be an interesting marker as to where we currently stand.

If we've got serious ambitions of mounting a proper promotion push then games like Watford at home are where we need to be picking up three points (no doubt they'd be thinking the same if we were playing there this weekend).

I think given their current difficulties and our obvious need for more minutes to aid the team in "jellying" I'd prefer to be facing Sheff Wed away first of our two next fixtures, but a win on Sat would present us with an excellent chance of winning three out of our first four. Which, given the apparent difficulty of our start according to some stats wonks and the hysterical nonsense that followed Middlesbrough, would be very decent going indeed.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I don't think we can judge where we are yet. Personally I will judge if and when we get a striker in, it will make a massive difference to our season either way. Currently we are just treading water upfront.

Hopefully we will have this elusive striker in before Saturday, then he can come on off the bench, he will be far better than the robot.

If we carry on with the way we played on Saturday, especially the second half, they wont live with us.

Come off it, it’s 3 days since a prospective signing had his medical and no sign of him on the OS😂. Can’t see a striker here before then but please prove me wrong🙏

My money is on it if this striker is brought in.

Mind you a promotion push in my book is top eight going into the final six weeks.

I asked in another thread but no reply. Do you know who this striker is? I don’t want to know but do you?

Can’t wait for Saturday (first game I can get to this season).

Let’s hope there are a few like me to get the numbers up.

Due to shift working this is my first game of the season and unlike previous seasons have a genuine good feeling and excitement of what’s about to unfold.

Now I’ve said that expect a loss 🤣

No I’m going for a 2-0 win for the Swans with Vipotnik scoring and a healthy crowd of 17,252.

Edit - I forgot it’s on Sky. Same all bar the attendance (15,195).

The stop in play for drinks in the first half for the players lowered the attendance for a bit against Sheffield United. A lot of fans headed for the concourse after half of the first half. I will go 15875 because I don't think Watford will bring as much as Sheffield United. I will go 2 2 but as always hoping for a win.

I wouldn't be surprised if Vipotnik was not in the squad.

Personally I'm hoping that he is wound up and determined to prove the club wrong. If he does react like this he may be on the bench. Hopefully if he comes on he will vent his anger on Watford, if he is his normal self IMO he will be gone new forward or not.
