Despite having a referee who refused to make key decisions it was unequivocally a wasted journey for the sold out away end. Poor tactics, strategically naive and hopelessly without effort in the second half, it was a shocking watch. And all that after a decent first half. 1 Pointless, click above.

And a refund at the very least !!! As do the players , that second half was a totally unacceptable, uninspiring, gutless performance that sadly we’ve seen far too often away from home this season, I hoped we’d seen the last of them when Sheehan and Williams left but sadly Matos is continuing with it and sadly for us he doesn’t seem to know how to do anything about it . They let Chelsea have the ball for fun without doing anything with it in the cup and if they hadn’t been reduced to 10 probably would’ve won, didn’t anyone on the Swans coaching staff watch that game!!! Every team we play know if they press us eventually we’ll go into our default mode of slow, negative sideways and back crap and they can relax and pick us off at leisure by just going wide or straight up the middle and scoring What is so maddening and frustrating is we see it so regularly and nothing is done to change it ,we just go through the motions and the end result is usually the same,it’s not at all inspiring or professional on Matos’ part , because his substitutions don’t really give much in the way of confidence that he knows what to do about it,in fact quite often they make things worse Oh and we’ve only got Coventry coming up , now there’s a team that goes onto the pitch with ambition and desire ….. I wonder if Matos and his staff have watched them !!!,after tonight, I wouldn’t count on it

We battered them, should have been 2-3 up first half. Definitely should have had a pen. 1 big chance they had and took it. Yes poor defending for the 2nd goal. Second half wasn't great but we still had our chances against a stubborn team. Of course it goes down as another loss away from home but plenty of positives tonight

But as soon as Ronald and Franco came off the game changed. Yes Wrexham set up defensive, but not sure why we just kept playing backwards. First half, excluding the goal for me was really good. Franco could of scored in first few minutes, penalty shout and VP. But I felt we gifted that game and not for the first time this season.

The game changed with the substitutions, taking Franco off made absolutely no sense.

100%. But he was looking tired. He looked wiped out. Problem really was know one stepped up in his role. Yalcouye didn't have a good game and usually adds some creativity. Cullen did very little. Eom was OK. Widell didn't do much either. This time round Subs added very little.
| Wrexham 2 Swansea City 0 : What a waste of time for a sold out away end on 06:59 - Mar 14 with 1182 views | PawelAbbott | We go into sideways and backwards mode when teams sit back and let us keep the ball. We don't have enough creativity in the side to break teams down when they do that. Widdel and Walta have been brought in to do that as they were very capable of it in Scandinavia, but it appears that the gap between those leagues and the Championship is very large. There was a lot of hype around bringing in Walta at the transfer window and there was always going to be a steep learning curve for him but is it one that he will ever overcome? He is an expensive gamble for the club and a lot of money for an unused sub when we have Congreve doing it in Scotland [Post edited 14 Mar 7:01]

| Wrexham 2 Swansea City 0 : What a waste of time for a sold out away end on 07:21 - Mar 14 with 1129 views | RichardO | In that first half there was some excellent moves by the Swans at times and we were unlucky not to go ahead, their goalie saved them, as we tried to open them up the game got stretched gaps that shouldn't have appeared did, a number of times players were lost, tracking back was poor, the defensive setup lost it's shape. In an attempt build pressure on Wrexham gaps appeared very similar to the ones seen against Ipswich who counter attacked within the first 5 minutes, yes we could of scored early on in the game and yes we should of had a penalty but the cover for players being asked to press forward is poor at times, it is one of the reasons that Fulton has a more prominent role these days with his experience. The second half was a typical game of Wrexham playing the waiting game very similar to the last 20 mins of the first half wait and when the gaps appear pounced, they didn't over press leaving us have the ball deep but keeping the middle of the park tight very similar to so many games we have found ourselves in. Could we have shot from the edge of the box yes but they closed us down very quickly but having an attempt at least pulls defending players out of positions to make the blocks but we lacked the subterfuge at the edge of the box no reversed or disguised passes or dummy runs off the ball or was it a case of Wrexham's defence kepted it's shape, a couple of desperate moments but far too few were created, instead we had crosses into the box which were well defended, second balls won. High cosses into the box against poorer defences work but against well organised teams add to that we had taken off one of our tallest players leaving only Vipotnik as one with any stature in open play. Should we have got players on the end of some of the whipped crosses, yes but we have some very inexperienced players on the pitch, should we have brought Ward on and push Key further forward because he does seem to be a far more effective player going forward rather the one stuck at rightback not prepared to play a forward pass in case we lose possession. Frustrating because we were the team on top in that first half but left ourselves open, second half they defended and waited even Stoke with ten men blocked the path through the middle of the park but with ten men the press was felt against better organised teams a couple of painful lessons should and hopefully will be learnt. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

We controlled the game. Not so good second half as they improved to be fair but to use worlds like “shocking” is way off the mark in my opinion.

| Wrexham 2 Swansea City 0 : What a waste of time for a sold out away end on 08:28 - Mar 14 with 1024 views | Dr_Winston | We're simply not going to be able to play a fast paced game with two central defenders and a deep lying midfielder (Stamenic) who move the ball at glacial pace. Galbraith for me has to play at 6. He's the only one who can set a bit of tempo. Tempo is absolutely everything at this level. Matos is also starting to make the same mistake we've seen coaches make for years. You can't go with a midfield comprised of three individuals who all generally play in a central or deep lying position. They slip into bad habits and allied to the generally slow pace with which we move the ball forward it leaves your front three isolated and usually blamed for something that isn't entirely their fault. They're getting the ball too late with defences already set. Ronald is not great at beating players one on one. When he's got two against him he's got no chance. Widell has shown the most pushing forward and pressing, so he has to play until Walta is up to speed. | |
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

Forward and fast and they are very good at it and a pleasure to watch Polar opposite of us second half last night night and many times this season I’m not looking forward to it

Story of our season we don't score enough when we are on top. Hopefully we are starting to play for 55 m instead of 45 m out of the 90 before Matos came.

I would disagree, atmosphere was awful. Only heard a few times throughout the game. Fair play to all that travelled though but should have got behind the team more

That report from Liam could have been written by me Matos needs to come clean and not patronise us with “ positive” speak Fans aren’t stupid Really bald throwing his hands up to exhort our fans to shout more was sheer effrontery What a jerk this chap is Like it or not , it was sold as a “ derby”and a key game and it was It showed we are only where we are because of three players The rest appalling A final word on EOM ; Why?

I think we need to work out where to play Galbraith. He was excellent down the left hand side of midfield in the first half.
