Is the rise of faith-based politics based on divergent attitudes? 16:10 - May 5 with 742 viewsAnotherJohn

The recent success of the Greens in Gorton and Denton suggests that political parties may be designing their policies to appeal to particular ethnic minority communities. Together with the election of several "independent" MPs who highlight their policies on Gaza, Israel and Judaism, this suggests that some communities - particularly Muslim ones - may increasingly vote as a block to try to take UK policy on certain international issues in a radically different direction. One question that then arises is just how different attitudes and opinions on a range of issues are in Muslim communities compared with the general population. A recent Policy Exchange report gives us some interesting data.

Don’t need any of that , it’s obvious
Old Lancashire cotton towns 90% Asian areas will vote for policies that appeal to their culture
It means they will vote for fellow Asians
No different to Welsh speaking Gogs voting for plaid or indeed any party that vilifies the English

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not

Data are always useful. Do Gogs prefer to vote for a party that promises to change what goes on in faraway lands? They don't even seem to care much about what goes on in South Wales.

The geography stops them
It’s why independence would be nuts
Caernarfon would want independence from a Cardiff based “ government”
A different breed from post industrial South Walians

You have done your best to sew division in Wales and unity in the UK under the Crown although clearly not being a fan of the Monarchy.

I am also a bit pf a political patch work quilt. Wales needs the Senedd or equivalent to maintain our status as an International players of sorts.

This in turn allows us the PRIVILEGED status of International sports teams and the economic benefits which admittedly primarily go to Cardiff.

The Monarchy and its trappings are the "English thing". I tolerate the ludicrous money spent on them and the phoney pageantry and medals. I EXPECT England and English minded to support the Senedd and Welsh language as our much cheaper "Welsh thing."

DNA analysis suggest the English are far more Welsh than Germanic in many areas outside East Anglia and Northumberland.

English minded people are incandescent at any Senedd spending outside Wales. This is despite the Brexit requirement to find and develop new Asians and American markets (non EU). My cousins are gogs and patriots.

How does one “sew division”? Division is an abstract concept. Not a physical one. There’s nothing for the needle and thread to attach to.

I value your offerings Joesus
I views Res post as the most pure form of literal racism I’ve even seen
It’s virtual eugenics
I find it incredible
We’re talking pure blood here vis a vis race definition
Personally , there is no doubt stance at all physically or genetically between English and Welsh
If there is then my kids and grandkids are mixed race
wtf is wrong with people here
Why is this allowed

In the unlikely event I would ever have to make a presentation on the Dunning-Kruger effect to some aliens who have just landed I would just save time and direct them to his posts.

There is more genetic variation between North and South Wales than there is between England and Wales.

When you aliens, do you mean people from another planet or the English? Asking for a friend.

He's got plenty of form on this subject, he's a pathetic specimen as his post above and many of his other posts prove.

He puts labels on plenty of posters on here, he sees himself as someone who is above all others.

He lacks humility and commonsense, because he's an arrogant attention seeker, there's a few about, but he's up there on his own.

And a chasm culturally
The difference between somebody from Llangefni and Llangennith is far greater than a Jack and a Geordie , many of whom can trace roots to Scandinavia

Because of mass migration, loads of people came from the midlands to find work in the south wales colleries, steelworks, factories etc following the Industrial Revolution. And it happened in a very short period of time relatively speaking.

Generally speaking though genetic variation is a good thing. The levels of endogamy in these small communities in pre industrial Britain must have been off the scale.

I'm not an expert on this but have read about significant flows of labour from Cornwall and Devon to industrial South Wales., partly linked to importation of copper across the Bristol channel and the mining expertise that existed in those parts of South West England. I wonder if the arrival of persons of shared Celtic heritage made interaction between the indigenous Welsh and the incomers a little easier? To this day, Mebyon Kernow like to proclaim their Celtic heritage.
