Some strange choices. Notably Maguire dropped in favour of Dan Burn. I would have thought the intangibles of taking someone if Maguire’s experience would have put him right up there as first on the squad list. I suppose Jordan Henderson will fill that role now as ‘father of the squad’.
I’m also a bit disappointed that Max Dowman hasn’t been included. This guy is going to the very top and blooding him young would have been great for his development both domestically and internationally.

I thought "You don't do that!". The objective is to come out top of the group with minimum effort, or you'll be jiggered in the later stages. And so it proved against France, as well as being better, they had more in the tank.

Harry Maguire given 15-month suspended prison sentence after retrial in Greece. A Greek appeals court has found the England and Manchester United defender Harry Maguire guilty of aggravated assault, upholding an earlier conviction that effectively ends a six-year-long legal battle to clear his name.
Maybe the back story is he would be refused entry ?
