| Majorca on 19:31 - Jun 3 with 2268 views | Togg | Only Baleric I've never been to . However nearly booked Pollensa , then COVID hit. For mainland Spain try Nerja on to he CDS no longer a secret but off season it's beautiful. Lot of folk love Estapona but not been there. Also Lafranc Costa Brava.. very cool and upmarket. Sitges Costa Dorada very similar to Nerja but more of a Gay scene but also couple family friendly. I've no doubt Keith will extol the virtues of Cadiz. One thing to remember don't believe the bollocks that we are not welcome in Spain as tourists. It's mega nonsense. I've always been treated fantastically by Los Espanaoles. | | | |
| Majorca on 21:20 - Jun 3 with 2183 views | johnlangy | We're on the way back from Palma Nova tomorrow . We always stay in Roc Portonova apartments (they've gone up market now and call them suites ). Anyway. It's not a hotel but we'd recommend it. Lots of restaurants and bars around but not much in the way of music I'm afraid. | | | |

Stayed at Paguera on me and the Mrs first holiday we weren't married then, there was maybe still is a Hotel called the Mary Pins, we were supposed to have stayed there, but they over booked the rooms, so we were put in a hotel further round to the right of the hotel, fair walk into the town, we were on the beach one day and we forget to bring the travellers cheques with us, so we hired one of those pegalo things and peddled across, got a tad hot and bothered and burnt, Another day I decided to have a float on a sunbed, burnt back of my legs, had to pop off somewhere quiet in the evenings to drop my trousers and plaster my legs with aftersun, I soon learnt my lesson, I hide under an umbrella these days

Cadiz isn’t for everyone but the coastline is second to none. The media hype on tourist protests is generally that.

Just about yes. The pool guy wouldn't let any towels down before 8.30

| Majorca on 12:35 - Jun 4 with 1868 views | pencoedjack | I'm off to Cala d'or in September. Went a few years back nice & chilled, decent restaurants. I'm in my late 50's (& also don't realise it) but I find it got a good balance. Mrs PJ choice, personally Id rather Es Cana in Ibiza for a chilled holiday. | | | |

| Majorca on 20:26 - Jun 5 with 1655 views | jack_lord | Back from Gran Canaria :) - Cala D'or every time (obvs matter of taste) but it has a great marina, excellent picturesque small cove (cala) beaches and the town nighlife has a wonderful Med vibe. More expensive than a few places but plenty of wonderful restaurants and if you like overpriced Michelin food there is a great one in the marina. A few of the restaurants have great bands that people enjoy with their food and drink. There is a decent Irish restaurant in the centre that place good rock bands. A mixture of good hotels also with a choice of all inclusive, full or half board or our favourite of self catering so we can eat at different places. | |

We didn't think much of the Marina last year J Cala Bona is better, Benalmadena on mainland Spain is a cracker to. Alcudia has a nice Harbour lovely hotel right on the harbour looking over the beach to, just a shame about the rest of Alcudia. [Post edited 6 Jun 19:29]

Always had a fascination with Cadiz have been near but never set foot there. Recovering from surgery this summer but next year will be getting a flight to Jerez and taking in the sights. It seems steeped in history and unique in its architecture and character. Europe has some gems if you are prepared to go off piste and explore the road less travelled.

I really fancy a road trip through inland Spain, starting in somewhere like San Sebastián and then meandering through the middle taking in places like Pamplona, Cuenca, Leon, Burgos, Salamanca Granada, Madrid and eventually down to Cadiz. Could spend a few days on the coast, but I’d really like to see the real Spain.

I once got a crawler train from Barca to Madrid way pre-Talgo days in the 80s and have to say the scenery was stunning. Also a few days later Madrid to San Sebastian was equally inspiring though far more temperate and cooler.

That sounds great. Really want to discover some of the North of the country. The Celtic region of Galicia, Basque region etc.

Me too. Went to Seville last year fantastic city. I found out whilst there in June it’s called the frying pan of Spain, so May or September would be ideal time to go.
