Where the Apple is or was down the Mumbles that car park there or the one to the right of it on the bay can you stay overnight in those ?, I know they are pay ones.
Anyone know if the little road in Langland that goes down towards the beach and the beach huts with the tennis courts on the right hand side, can you park there overnight in a motorhome ? (would I be able to turn it around to get back out ?)
Port Talbot sand rabbits is the waste ground by the Naval club still there and accessible?

It's the same here wife doesn't want to leave her horses and pets for too long and we have done the abroad thing over the years, so bought a motorhome at the end of the season last year (i hoped to get it cheaper that way, blydi things are expensive mind but seemingly hold their value) her brother has had motorhomes for years now and they go for months at a time, skiing all winter and he says that the places abroad are set up much better for motorhomes than what this country is, he is abroad now so I can't ask him for local spots for just a night ot two.
We've just come back from a week in Tenby in the motorhome for the 'long course weekend' to support a family member and that was good lots of places to visit down there and if we have the weather the beaches in Wales and the scenery is the best anywhere in the world. | |

Weve thought for many years on gettn an RV
however our drive isn’t long enough
To store it and pay for doing so seems nuts
It’s the case that for many it isa cash pit that is used too infrequently
To get a sizeable one we’re talking 100k and all this when you’re defecting into a glorified bucket which somebody has to empty
Bear in mind traversing down a picturesque Devon lane in an RV or trying to park up in a town to get provisions
Driving one of these on a A or B road nkes you instantly the most detested driver on the road
Lastly,ny husband / wife, boy/ boy,girl/ girl,girl relationships have to conducted on a rather more restrained ,circumspect manner
It’s not the 60 s down Llangennith in your mate’s dad’s car n after meeting up with some new friends. In the Kings Head .

It's definitely an advantage to have a big enough drive, I got given a Garmin thing specially for motorhomes, in case I go to Cornwall in it as they have narrow lanes down there. | |

You need to be careful with wild camping sites or offroad with motor homes. They are big heavy vehicles and not 4 wheel drive. Getting bogged down is a real possibility.
Think also of location. It's not ideal to pack everything up to take it into Tescos or the town to get supplies. Choose somewhere on a bus route or where Ubers are available | | | |

I would not go off road and would not use it to go to a supermarket either. | |

They’ve got their own network of sites which generally don’t have club houses etc and they are usually of a very high standard. They also have a massive network of Certified Locations which are small privately owned sites catering for up to 5 units, some sites are very basic and others have all mod cons. The certified locations can be anywhere, part of a pub carpark, farmers field etc etc.
I used to have a caravan when the kids were smaller and I’ve thought about getting a motor home, but decided against as they’re very expensive and I’d don’t think I’d use it enough.
I’ve a few mates with motorhomes, one tows a small car on an A frame so he’s not bothered where he goes, he just pitches up, unhooks his car and off he goes. Another tends to stay on sites near public transport or near towns, cities or cycle paths and the other just goes where he wants and stays where he wants, he’ll often pitch up at a pub and ask if he can stay in the car park overnight if he buys a meal and a few drinks - it usually works for him.
Some suggestions from me would be
Pembrey Country Park, the caravan club have a site there as do the County Council. The former is of a much higher standard. It’s close to the Millenium Coastal Path and you can cycle in to Burry Port or Llanelli. Defo worth a visit.
Aeron Coast, Aberaeron. I’ve not been there myself, but my mates all stay there and love it. It’s within walking distance of Aberaeron.
Sophia Gardens, Cardiff. The facilities were a little tired the last time we were there, but it’s a great location.
Baltic Wharf, Bristol. It’s a Caravan Club site, excellent location in the centre of Bristol. It’s inside the Low Emission Zone, so that may be an issue and it’s very busy.
Moreton in Marsh, another Caravan Club Site - great location.
There’s plenty of great sites about, but these are some of the nearer ones I’d recommend to start with. | | | |

I saw something online earlier about a van being broken in to whilst parked in a hotel car park, but 4 cars were also broken in to so it’s a bit of a lottery. I’m careful where I park my car, I’d been even more careful and concerned about where I parked my motorhome.
I know 2 people who had their vans broken in to whilst they were sleeping in them parked up in aires in the South of France. One of them was a female lone parent who was away with her teenage son and his friend. They had no idea they’d had visitors until the following morning when they noticed their valuables were missing. These incidents are very very rare particularly in this country. Three precautions you can take for peace of mind.
Use a ratchet strap through the inside handles/arm rests of the two front doors. If anyone overrides the central locking they still can't get in through these two doors.
Inside of the habitation door use a light beam alarm, put one on one unit and another on the unit on the other side, if the beam is broken the alarm goes off. About £25.
Put a dog dish outside the door. Any possible intruder will not take the risk of waking up a barking dog. |  | | |
