It's completly unfeasable to introduce but if this was a possibility would you like too see a maximum wage limit introduce world wide in football. Say a deal struck that any professional born after 1998 would be confined to earn a maximum of roughly £150,000 a week.

Wage caps are an utterly ridiculous concept... smacks of jealousy for the most part.
NFL has it spot on - no wage cap for individual players but the teams have a salary cap. Can then splash out for one amazing player if you want, but that means you've less money for the rest of the squad.
Even so, it's still pointless unless all leagues in every nation have the same rules; players would leave in droves where they can get more money. | |

And again, how can you cap it - for one thing that contradicts EU rules.
The only way any cap can be applied legally is a salary cap on teams.
It's not practical in sports where there's promotion and relegation. NFL can do it, there's a fixed number of franchises.
Say a salary cap of 75m for Prem teams. Three teams relegate; Championship salary cap is say 50m. Whilst it's valid "better" players will leave anyway as at present, those teams have gone down a division and have to sell players. Any team yoyoing between the divisions will be in a cycle of buying to try to stay in Prem / relegate / sell to abide by Championship cap / promote. | |

Nothing to do with jealousy, some of the wages paid out to these players is just ludicrous, £50k a week should be the maximum, all the surplus should be ploughed back into the community that the club supposed to represent.

the idea would be for it to be imposed by Fifa and then it's same rules for all. A salary cap is a very good idea. How would it work though, if say Man Utd had the same salary cap as us, would that be fair? | |

How is it ludicrous - maybe in your opinion.
Players wages are purely a business decision, contract negotiations. A player views their worth as X, a club views it as Y. Same as transfer valuations are what a seller would be happy to accept, what a buyer would be happy to spend.
You cannot apply a maximum salary on individual players. It's illegal and immoral to do so.
Clubs aren't run as community projects. Haven't been run like that for decades. | |

Communities don't own clubs.
People don't complain when musicians and film stars earn multiple millions per year yet footballers get it in the neck constantly. It's the nature of high level sport that its top practicioners earn massive wages.
Bring in a salary cap in Europe and the Chinese or Arabic Superleague will attract the best players. |  |

The whole "sweeping the streets" argument is also silly. You can argue as to the relative benefits to society, but simply put, Wayne Rooney could sweep streets - it's a relatively low skill job. Could street sweepers play football to the level of Wayne Rooney? Absolutely not. Hence the massive pay differential to reflect the differences in skill levels and value to the employer. | |

Many people play football for leisure.
They don't play it professionally for a reason.
If football isn't en effort then I'm sure players who have had health issues after retiring would really appreciate that sentiment.
Fact is, players want and get contracts based upon their perceived value to their future employers. Good luck to them on that score. When my company pitches for contracts, it's based upon a level reflecting the skills being brought to the table for the job. | |

The point about the South Park episode was the ridiculousness in calling it immoral for someone to ONLY be paid say a maximum of 50,000 quid a week for a leisure activity.
Not that anyone should be forced to play football for free. What kind of mug would do that?
