1-5-4-1 formation for a cup/Home game? 08:46 - Mar 18 with 2033 views | RichardO | Formation left us chasing shadows all over park. If you don't think your forward is physical strong enough give him help, Midfield weak then pack it with players we allowed Spurs most creative player space. 1-3-5-2 for cup and home games 11 players against 11 players yesterday. We have look good under Carlos when we are going forward onto the ball (he has made sure we get numbers in the box) but yesterday we spent so much time on the back foot. Got to win the midfield battles first Carlos has had the players up the work rate since he has been here and if we lost the ball we have fought to get the ball back. Yesterday Spurs were given to much respect
1-5-4-1 formation for a cup/Home game? on 10:09 - Mar 18 with 1979 views | Kilkennyjack | Michael used to play 4-2-3-1 every week, with wingers. And a 10. I liked to watch that, with wingers and everything. We did not always win, but it was always great to watch. It was a full on match, and not just a limp surrender at home. Just saying.

1-5-4-1 formation for a cup/Home game? on 10:59 - Mar 18 with 1945 views | STID2017 | Under normal circumstances, Carroll wouldn't have started yesterday as King would have been in there. Ki had an off day by his recent standards. That left Clucas trying to carry out his midfield role in what was (on the day) a weak midfield and trying to support the attack (as it was) Three enforced changes didn't help, but the other changes were wrong. CC should have started with his strongest eleven available and had a proper go at them, even if we'd lost 6-2 or whatever. Never mind, I'm sure he'll sort it for the next game

Like all eras, we all choose to remember them through rose - tinted glasses. I am sure there have been matches under all our managers where we've thought "are they even trying"

1-5-4-1 formation for a cup/Home game? on 12:58 - Mar 18 with 1859 views | RichardO | The formation I suggested 1-3-5-2 for yesterday was because the three centre backs have been playing better attacking the ball when the ball is loose and in the air , 5 in the middle to ensure we battling for the ball and two up front to ensure the opposition don't have any easy time passing the ball out from the back . Under the Swansea way we use to have two wingers a centre forward and a high number 10 to support. we haven't got the wingers at the moment so we must trust the back three and let the fullbacks give us the width If you stop teams playing out from the back usually the keeper has to kick long which gives us time to get back into a good defensive position Got to use the formation that best suits the players we have which to be fair to Carlos he has and changed when he has not. To play good football we have to have the ball yesterday we didn't have it.

Yes, we didn't get into Erikson enough; it's usually the key to keeping Spurs quiet.

We don't have any f'ing wingers. We have a squad entirely made up of average central midfielders.
