The UK government's decision to cut the maximum stake on fixed odds betting terminals hit William Hill hard in its half-year period, as the bookmaker swung to a pretax loss of £820m.

William Hill is talking shit because the maximum stake on fixed odds machines hasn’t changed yet. This is a fairly naked attempt at scaremongering about job losses in an effort to get the government to change its mind before the law on fixed odds stakes changes.

Total rubbish.

It has not come into force yet.

And when it does the muppets who play them will still be able to lose £480 per hour but that does not satisfy the scummy, parasite bookies and the people who work in them.

Surely massive companies would never use job losses to scaremonger governments into changing their position? This is outrageous!

Funny enough on the Stephen Nolan show on radio 5 last night an industry expert explained the reason the new limit has not been brought in yet is because it has to go through the EU court which takes an extra 3 months..

It's on Iplayer take a listen the EU are even controlling our bookies the quicker we are out the better.
