*** NOT IN ADMINISTRATION ***

Yep, my mistake.

Should have posted "heading not gone", because main creditor for some reason refused to accept full repayment of loan on Monday.

Their main creditor Blue Marble Capitol then changed their mind today and accepted Bolton's £4M debt repayment, allowing Bolton to extend 2 other loans on better terms, and avoid administration.

Does this still come with the 10 points deduction these days?

Amazing how many clubs are in a right mess these days.

Maybe we should have pushed the boat out and taken the 12 points on the chin.

Maybe we should not have wasted tens of millions in terrible signings like Ayew, Bony, Mesa, Borja, Clueless, and an amateur as Director of Football.

£700 million revenue, plus the parachute payments, and we have no money.
What a fecking joke.

First club since Aldershot in 2013 to get a pelanty, maybe FFP actually works.

Having said that I don’t think a 12 points deduction is a huge problem in this league where there are so many points to be won. It wouldn’t be beyond the realms of possibility for them to go to -1 points today and still quite comfortably make the play offs. It certainly doesn’t equal regulation.

Not that I care about other teams, but Bolton had a terrific start for their level. It's a shame for the players if they get screwed over something like that. So unfair.

I hoped Aston Villa would have went into the sh!t instead though.

Was reading an article about Villa earlier, they apparently have FFP to contend with this season and are in the process of reducing their wage bill, I believe it was around £45m last season and in need of further slicing this season to maybe around £25 to £30m so they may cash in on some of their better players if they don’t get promoted this season.

Maybe we shouldn't have done all we can to try and play with the big boys so ungrateful kunts like you can say you supported an EPL club.

Kilkenny will be looking for some new material now? The academy has now produced several decent players. Whatever is he going to post over over and over and over again now?

You simply can’t understand that to be just in the PL, you have to spend a huge amount of money.
Or do you think we should have just signed players from the local Swansea leagues ?

Shame for Bolton, one of the original clubs punching above its weight in the prem league, both with incredible signings and league finishes .

Didn't they finish 5 th one year ?
Anyway, goes to show the sliding scale effect, the longer you stay up the more you need to increase wages, the more you chase that special signing that turns out to be a dud, the more you spend to recover and hey Presto you end up with a bloated squad full of bang average players who have no heart and can't quite make the grade and who nobody else wants .

Many many clubs including ourselves are in the exact same boat .
Football is eating itself and after seeing 6 games of us in the championship it's clear that true football exists in a league lower than the top one . Far more enjoyable and far more exciting especially with young players getting a chance.

Is the premier league killing football clubs ?

They were lucky that a former owner, a Bolton fan, wrote off £100m+
Debt owed to him. Would these yanks do the same?

Agree with your point that wages have risen with PL income. Bolton also invest huge amounts in player and training facilities and sadly had to sell them. I’m sure Shaky will have more details on forecast etc. but we have advantages that should mean lower risk of administration:

- Bolton received £37m in last year in P/L not the £100m a year we’ve enjoyed.
- Parchutes have increased dramatically, party due to issues with clubs like Bolton. So the money we’ll receive over next three years should smooth out those on expensive PL wages.
- Player profit. Unlike Bolton we made large profit by selling our most valuable players during PL.
- Debt. Bolton 180m - mostly what their owner put in the club. He’s subsequently written most off.

So we should be in much better position that Bolton. Our costs and wages have already been done to death on here, but if we reduce our non-player costs and Board/Owners don’t take large fees out, we should be able to able to match our income with high parachutes / player sales. Bolton simply couldn’t with much smaller parchutes and small amounts from player sales.
