Referees. How much do they earn? 05:20 - Sep 19 with 2055 viewsLord_Bony

Match officials for semi-professional games can earn around £80 a game plus expenses. Full-time Premier League officials can earn up to £70,000 a year, while all other league referees are paid around £300 to £500 a match.

If anyone's interested in a job,try these.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

What's annoying is that there are no comebacks.

If any of us made glaring mistakes at work that potentially result in a loss of millions, there would be comebacks.

One of the ex-refs on BT's coverage a few weeks back said that PL refs get 100k.

Just goes to show really, the amount they earn in the Championship for match officials is paltry.

It's probably not their full time occupation, therefore no big deal.

Refs get a tough deal. Until somewhat recently it was only expenses and match fee even at PL level. The fees have increased and he PL list ones get a good wage these days, however they still have to “retire” early. It was 40 a few years ago - could’ve changed.

League football and below is effectively semi pro - usually moonlighting outside of their day jobs. It’s understandable then that the standard is below what we’d expect.

Speaking as a former ref that got to a decent league standard (was being fast tracked alongside Lee Probert). Worked out that at best I “could” be a pro ref for 3-5 years. Not enough to put my career on hold during critical years. Got a ton of sh1t for walking away.

The age limit was 45 but they've removed the age cap now.

Poll: Simple...would you want Leon in the squad right now, if he was available?
