It is like a different world in parts of the works.
The Blast Furnaces, BOS / Steel Plant and to a lesser extent the Coke Ovens, can be akin to something out of Mad Max on times.
I will also say that they are a much safer place to work than they were 10/15 years ago,. Goes without saying that you need your wits about you at all times. | |

Horrendous that anyone reaches the point in their life where they feel compelled to do that, I just wish that it wasn't necessary to impact it on others in such a place as this.

I was coming home just after 5 and westbound was clear but eastbound was on stop from 47 to at least 45. Still, a few minutes sitting in a car is nothing compared to the poor f*cker who had got to the point at which he felt he had no other option available to him but to end his own life in that way. The brother of a good friend of ours in Canada took his own life last week.
Jon had a wife,two young daughters and a great job in the music industry.
He just couldn’t cope in the end.

The state, or lack of essential and appropriate mental health care in this country, is one of the countries biggest failures.
For a forward thinking, caring country, it is disgraceful, and is one of the few things that make me instantly angry. | |
