I begged my doctor for a colonoscopy but was refused and told I have to be over 60 and treated for IBS instead for nearly a year.
When I finally got one they found a tumour in my colon that had already metastasized to the liver...stage 4.

I get the bowel cancer screening every 2 years and also the the finger up the bum for the prostate. It's not painful at all just a bit uncomfortable and would advise anyone to get it done.I think a camera up the hoop would be a bit more uncomfortable though | | | |

Bloody hell, that's scared me. doc thinks I may have developed IBS. I have had the bowel cancer screening, all the blood tests for liver etc and stool samples nothing found yet, thankfully.Maybe I should ask for the colonoscopy as i'm over 60 | | | |

UK medical intervention is archaic now unfortunately. These and many other tests are offered free at age 50 and under in other countries. Not sure why the complacency/ignorance in the NHS/UK. |  | | |
