In the process of being turned into student flats

You might think I've forgotten, but one day, when you least expect it, my time will come.

Dickie, if you don't know, no-one does. PS resident public house aficionado.

In a real state last time I saw it about a month ago.

Very sad.

The Cricketers was part of the holy trinity back in my student/growing up in Uplands days.
What a fantastic place with so much local history. What a loss - more important than the Uplands Tavern in my eyes.

Definitely. I remember it from my childhood (aunt lived in Bryn Road, when they were actual houses). So sad. Used to be buzzing before and after cricket and rugby and on a Saturday night.

Didn’t the guy keeping it or working in it and trying to reverse its decline (scottishjack?) used to post on here.

Yep! That’d be me... sadly the rent hiked massively after a decent first year, a few others had a go after us, but no joy either. As mentioned earlier, last I heard it was going to be flats...

In the mid 80s Arthur Emyr had a room there. He was pi55ed every night. Played for Swansea then. Apparently had his lodgings and bar bill paid weekly by someone connected with the all, whites.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.
