Flags, flags and more flags, it’s flag day
Luton manager Nathan Jones has been a bit of a problem for the swans over recent fixtures, he seems to save his best for this fixture. The swans won at the Liberty but it wasn’t pretty, in fact it wasn’t even ugly, it was worse than that. Coupled with the swans recent form, albeit seven points from nine, it’s still a worry if an out of form Swansea can get anything from this game. A change of form is needed. Quickly.
Nathan Jones has never made it easy for the swans - ever
Last time out Luton lost at Norwich City 3-0, Swansea City drew at Blackburn Rovers.
Previously Since 2004 the swans have won five out of the last fixtures in all competitions. Last season Swansea won 1-0 at Kenilworth Road, and Luton won 1-0 at the Liberty.
Swansea City v Luton Town Games won: 20 Games drawn: 11 Games lost: 22
Luton Facts The club was founded in 1885 and became the first professional team in southern England in 1891. Back then it was over a hundred years ago. The side was promoted to the top-flight in 1981—82 and won the 1987—88 League Cup Final with a 3—2 victory over Arsenal. The club stayed in the top division until 1992. Then they left. They have never played in the premier league.
Charles Arthur Salvador (formerly Charles Ali Ahmed; Bronson, born Michael Gordon Peterson The man known as Charlie Bronson, Britain’s longest serving inmate ( 47 years currently )is from Luton, he is quite old now, 69 next birthday, but would still give a few millennials a right good kicking as long as there wasn’t more than five of them at a time. Bronson wrote the foreword to Tommy Robinson’s book about his hooligan endeavours. A bit like Cardiff City it should have been a three page pamphlet, the front and back Included. The middle page for a picture of Walter Mitty.
Charles Bronson amongst other names is as hard as a hard thing from hardshire
Luton’s Star Man A Manchester United academy graduate, the 26-year-old brings a huge amount of Championship experience to Kenilworth Road, having spent a majority of his career in the second tier. After he made two appearances in the League Cup, Tunnicliffe left Old Trafford in 2014, having spent time on loan at Peterborough United, Barnsley and Ipswich Town, joining Fulham for an undisclosed fee in 2014. He spent three-and-a-half years there, again, heading out on loan, this time to Blackburn Rovers and Wigan Athletic. He joined Millwall in 2017, spending two-years there, before joining the Hatters in the summer. Tunnicliffe made 40 appearances during his first season at Kenilworth Road, scoring his one and only goal in the 1-0 away victory against Middlesborough. At nine years old, Ryan was playing for Manchester United’s youth teams, and his dad managed to get odds on 100-1 on his son featuring for the first team, which earned him £10,000 in 2012. Running to the cliff, that’s Ryan

Good point well made.
Keep the same formation sat.
But Tues go to 4-3-3 with the two new boys upfront with lowe. We are too predictable at the moment , change it up a bit Give Bournemouth something to think about.
Plus you will have a fresh squad for the derby game

Would be nice to see us improve our style of play over the next few games. But then again i couldn't care less how we win next Saturday, as long as we do. Deflected own goal would do with no shots on target.
"So, carry on. We're finding ways to win and get points. We have done all season without an out-and-out starting number nine and so we'll continue our work."
What's the situation here then Gyokeres couldn't have been his choice, that's another dig at recruitment, 100%

Swansea cannot have managers that are not 'on board'. Little digs can be made from outside the club not inside. Swansea has alway worked is such a way that the club scouting team picks some players and the manager picks some playres that he has worked with before. This is a united team effort since Martinez time. It was the club that berought in Bodde for example from their links with Ad Den Haag. Martinez paired him with Jordi Gomez.
After criticisim they tried a manager only system with Potter bringing his own scout. His signings were disastrous.

It all depends on what you mean by "the club"
If it is somebody like Kevin Reeves who has scouted these players in person - great.
If it is somebody like Huw Jenkins sifting through e-mails from desperate agents, getting reeled in by a soundbite (15 goals in La Liga last season) and liking what he sees after spending the evening watching highlights on YouTube - not so great.

You are pedalling a fake narrative that I contest. This is what I do.
Swansea have always had a twin approach. Players known the the manager are often signed. The clubs heirarcy also signs players with the managers consent. This makes sense. The manager knows the character of the players and trusts them. The personal approach gives the club the edge in discussions with the player. The manager may also have particular links with certain clubs. Again beneficial.
Reeves was the recuruitmant man of Martinez. When Martinez left Reeves left. After that Swansea formed their own recuruitment team headed by Mr Ledbetter. Mr Ledbetter liked to keep a low profile and consequently his signing picks have been projected as Jenkins's signings laughingly associated with cheap slurs around casual youtube assessments. Recruitment is notoriuosly difficult but Swansea s record is decent up until relegation. Sifgurdson, Fabianski Ayews A and J (first) Bony (first) Fer Bartley Shelvey etc.
There are dud signings at all clubs. Less so at Swansea and this is represented in the clubs lack of long term debts to benefactors. Look at Stoke City's on loan register. Horrific. Swansea is looking relatively sound as the parachutes come to an end. Only Andre Aywe is on Premeier league pay upto this summer.
Ledbetter was sacked and the club appointed Potter who wanted his own recruitment guru McCauley. It was anticipted this would be a long term assiociation. Unfortuanetly MCCauleys picks were poor and the clubs academy players were better than the signings. The club directors refused to spend another £6m on Ryan Woods while Matt Grimes was seen as better. Potter was unhappy and left taking McCauley with him leaving the clubs recruitment in a mess again.
Mr Scott I assume is the "clubs man" I suspect it is understood Cooper cannot take him him in the event of him moving to pastures new. Coopers elite u17 well has dried up so he will need Scott. Manning Bennett look like Scott s picks Peterson, Latibeaudirere perhaps Coopers.
Relegation saw the twin approach failing . Clement got in Abraham and Sanches and the club Bony and Clucas. All bombed to one degree or another. Injuries played a part.
The days of managers picking players (employing their own family mambers as scouts/ agents in some cases) has hopefully gone. One lauded vice chairman was actually agent for one international player at one club which seemed odd to me.

I'm of the same opinion, Luton on their own pitch will be very difficult.
Any win will have to be fought for.
Yep, they have only lost 4 of their 16 home games. That’s the same as Barnsley and Bournemouth.
They are clearly hard to beat at the own ground. They have only won 6 of those 16 though so losing will absolutely be a disappointment.
However I will make the point that we have more chance of not winning than winning, which is also what the bookies odds suggest. We are about $2.20 to win, which means we are about $1.62 not to win (3/5 in fractional).
So while many look at the match and see us as favourites to win, it’s actually more accurate to say we are favourites not to win. We are odds against to win.
A win will be great, a draw reluctantly acceptable and defeat would be extremely disappointing.
