Emergency in the crowd 14:31 - Nov 5 with 1820 viewsKeithHaynes

I put this on a few weeks ago and thought better of it. Am I being a little heartless saying there’s no need to stop the game ? Every time.

You?
Heartless?
Nah
It’s a moot point though
Had several at Goodson and Anfield in the 80s.No thought of stopping the game .
There again,it took them too long to stop the Hillsboro game

They did it today at a WSL game, had no bearing on the match in play.

Nah 😉

Hillsborough was very different though, that wsn't a spectator taken ill, that was a tragedy, a disaster unfolding.

I think what we are seeing is the outcome of people's health being so bad and then getting over excited at sports events. it's at the point where every ground will need to have it's own mini A&E department because if you have a heart attack at a ground now you could easily be dead before the Ambo arrives.

Obviously until or unless sanity returns to players wages in sport, most clubs couldn't afford this and even then, small clubs couldn't do it, financially impossible.

Thanks for that, I think it backs up what I posted, many more grounds need better medical facilities and not just for players and staff.

I heard a story once, which probably isn't true but given the Australian nature for not blueberry hill around has a slim chance of actually being so. I kinda hope that it is.

Allegedly someone got run over by a train out there. Maybe suicide, maybe accident. When the emergency services requested that trains be halted so that the body could be recovered, they were met with the response that they should "Piss off because it's rush hour and he's not going anywhere anyway".

Same vibe here. If whatever is happening on the pitch is not preventing the appropriate services from doing whatever they need to then get on with it.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Typical aussies.

In my job I go to loads of suicides, be it because of railway incidents or hangings.

I find it absolutely disgusting that people have the 'dont give a banana biscuit attitude

These people deserve respect.

Aa I've said 'typical aussies'

Whilst I get your perspective what thought do the persons committing suicide give to those they might step out in front of such as train drivers and the like?
I know of someone who couldnt work again after someone jumped in front of the train he was driving. Why should others suffer because of someones selfishness,,,,and I know you often have to be desperate to take your life but it is a very selfish act.

Last time I looked.

"Are you seriously suggesting that hundreds, maybe even thousands of people should be inconvenienced for the sake of one person ?"

EDIT : Please give some thought you what you are posting.
If that "one person" ( however they had died) was your relative then I would imagine you may feel differently?
I would hope anyway

Take the selfish comments back please?

Oh get a life. In reality I'm the exact opposite.

If I died tomorrow maybe 100 people would give a shit. That's 0.04% of the population of Swansea. You must be one of those who think that human life is precious. In reality it's one of the most abundant, easily replenished, worthless and most damaging resources on the planet.

It would be the height of arrogance to expect so many people to be inconvenienced on my account.

Suicide.
To do so,normal survival thinking processes are suspended.Like firman,I’ve dealt with countless suicides and it did not get any better the more service you did. Every suicide is tragic, every suicide is a cry for help that went unnoticed .
Never undervalue yourself

If someone has lost consciousness or is having a heart attack it is much easier to provide first aid care in a calm environment rather than surrounded by people who are excited by a football match.

What an awful.post imagine having a family member or close friend commit suicide and then read this if I was a moderator you would be getting an extended break from this forum.

“ Human life is precious”
A key phrase and one that should resonate when logging on to this site and why it is here at all.
We all make rash posts from time to time and this was an aberration on his behalf.
If not, it really does not reflect well on the individual.
This is rather personal for our extended family . Suicide always is personal .

It was a good thread
