This documentary is about 5 young boys from Alice Street, who would all make their Wales debuts between 1946 and 1959 - Ernie Jones, Jackie Roberts, John Charles, Mel Charles and Mel Nurse.
Enjoy.

Very enjoyable watch . What is evident is that if it wasn't for Mel Nurse Swansea City would not exist or certainly not as we know it. If ever a guy merited a statue it's Mr Swansea .

I’m unsure as to the value of that statement. He was in way solely responsible. Yes, he did his part but others did more IMO.
A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

I saw him play in Ivor’s testimonial match at the Vetch in 1968…majestic.
He was and never really understood how great he was . I did know Denis Law quite well in business and what he told me about his days in Turin have stayed with me. He is still truly legendary there They paid for his medical treatment too.
I remember seeing it somewhere, I think it was an away programme, a survey of where pro footballers came from, i think it 1956-81 and Swansea or something tells me they were talking leagues so perhaps players from the Swansea league came second ahead of leagues from Merseyside, London and Birmingham, it was only Newcastle above Swansea for producing pro footballers.
Continually being banned by Planet Swans for Porthcawl and then being reinstated.

That’s correct 👍 Theres a lot of ‘football fans’ who follow this club who have a very negative view of the club without the knowledge to go with it.

Keith. To me ,a negative view is used when practices or decisions are questioned . We do not not those who see positivity as the domain of “ real” fans. My grandad would have been deemed a negative, naysaying doom monger as he moaned all the time . He was born a Jack ,a Swansea man, and the club was central to his life ,as it would living in Fleet Street .
We ar ,or should be a broad church. Anyone supporting their local team of the town of their birth will do for me .
