They still possess the most evolutionary advanced weapon known to man, so I don't think you can accuse them of being 1000 years behind in terms of evolution.

Yes, we all work together to get something done. It's like the space program; lots of differing cultures and countries working together for the greater good.

All in the name of Religion on 18:16 - May 28 with 1098 views | Matlock_Jack | People are seeing religion as Medieval. For Clarity, the Old Testament (depending on who you believe) was written in either the Bronze or Iron Age, so Christian rhetoric is based on a VERY ancient schematic for the comprehension/explanation of the earth.

All in the name of Religion on 19:14 - May 28 with 1024 views | marchamjack | Genuinely sickened reading that. The father's 'justification' is beyond reasonable comprehension. We are never going to change beliefs/cultures like that, so deeply entrenched. Just glad I don;t live in a society that (even in some part condones that sort of action. Very selfish I know, but there is only so much we in the west can possibly affect.

All in the name of Religion on 19:26 - May 28 with 1013 views | JackoBoostardo | Humanity is going down the shitter. Not as a result of these events, but people's empathetic view of - "well it's their culture", or "it's nothing to do with Islam or religion". And don't make out comments such as this are racist or bigoted, as all religions have elements of instilling these backwards beliefs into those of the gullible. Christianity as well as Islam teaches things such as hate, murder and rape - and all it takes is a trigger to set of the assholes. Humans are far from evolved as long as scriptures and teachings that should have died a thousand years ago are continued to be pushed onto people and taught as fact.

Scripture isn't meant to be an alternative version of science and it's irresponsible to teach it as such. However I'm speaking as a science student, when I tell you that science cannot tell us who or what was (definitively) the source of life, we can only piece together the evidence as we encounter scraps of the paper trail. Likely we will never know. Religion says God did it (which requires major investment in faith) Science says Big Bang did it, or at least laid the groundwork (which has major flaws). BTW which denomination of Christianity teaches 'rape or murder' as a modern day philosophy? The Old Testament is full of battles and bloodshed, but battles and bloodshed are still part of the world we all live in today and would be if religion didn't exist; humanity would find some excuse to fight each other. I'm happy to concede however, that some Christians can be hateful. [Post edited 28 May 2014 20:21]
