Doubtful with the way our youth are knocking on the doors of 1st team squad places. It seems some of our youth would struggle to get squad places with the Welsh PL teams. Buy hundreds in the hope one turns out ok. Pretty sh1te guesswork by someone then as Ben was the last successful breakthrough by my reckoning

You carry on happy clapping fella. I simply support our local welsh players. I expect our academy coaches to put in the hard work and produce first team players. I dont care if we win or lose below first team level. If i see lazy gambles of throwing our new money at non swansea produced players, instead of the hard work going in then, i think it should be called out for what it is. Whem mr curtis wad in charge - with no money - we produced Macca, Joey, Jazz and Ben in 5 or 6 years. Great to see. Since then - with money - not a single meaningful player. And it gets better - a local player we released Marley Watkins is centre forward for Norwich and in the full Wakes squad. You can add Joe Walsh and Gwion to that. Last player Scotland produced was Graeme Souness, yet we sign 8. Give me break.

Excellent post. Edit - the problem is buying in players has proven to be more successful. And keeps the coaches in a job. That being key. [Post edited 14 Aug 2017 20:19]

If only, I do agree, but also have some pride in the success of late. I'm still scratching my head about Dan James, I was certain he would break through this season.

Why on earth we don't release Gorre is beyond me. I watched the under 23s play the other night (on the stream), and he was really very weak. He's been awful out on loan. I also think he's an over age player now isn't he? What's the point? Get rid of him.
