Important estuary habitats for the birdies isn't it? And sand dunes habitat.
I can see a lot of objections.
Good in the grander scheme of things though - we should be using our water for power, especially tidal. It's a no brainier for an island with large tidal reaches.

With your mentioning of birds and the location, you brought up nightmares of watching my mother laugh at this abomination...

This is an issue that is simliar to that in Swansea Bay but ,yet again, we get this tedious shyte
Someone please make some sensible observations
How does this cost compare with Swansea Bay.
What about the funding
This plan ,if it goes ahead, will provide power for 250,000 homes
Seriously. The much reduced cost of offshore wind renders these barrages uneconomic. The costs of offshore have diminished a lot in the last couple of years. The oil and nuclear industries lobby to make sure the schemes never get off the ground. The bird lobby doesn’t help either Not a chance of getting built in Merseyside or Swansea IMHO

I'm too sure myself but there is huge energy (no pun) in this region and regeneration goes ahead at almost frantic proportions
Who doesn't give a shiye about MERSEYSIDE. Well looking at this Board and the endless references INTIATED by Swansea region people, I s suggest NOT ,in fact some have an obsession of Scouce/scouse/Liverpool /Merseyside threads mainly going over and over what was considered humouress years ago.

I tell you how it will compare with Swansea Bay? My opinion is formed by likelihood based upon reality and past history of what has gone on before.
The Swansea Bay one is but a mere initiative, a dream, an artist impression, a throw away architects drawing, a 3D computer-graphic presentation, a load of hot air and mood muzak for a door stepping politician and his/hers party political literature during a pre-election campaign.
Other impressive projects outside of Swansea in places like Cardiff region and elsewhere in U.K have a tendency to be complete and utter reality. That’ll be the major comparison/difference!

I saw a text stating the view ( of port talbot) would be spoiled .
I'm thinking of the prestige, the work, the jobs ,the sustainable energy. I could feckn cry
This region, like Swansea has been dumped on ,mainly by Manchester but it's fighting back and the evidence is there to behold . Sorry to upset but Liverpool is really kicking arse now and the momentum continues
I pray Swansea can somehow stand up to this disgusting Cardiff centric WAG
I hope I live to see it and my home town get its pre eminence back

Port Talbot view of Swansea or Swansea's view of Port Talbot.
