It is only fair they return it to England. It was made in Canterbury and was stolen by the Normans.

Impressive I take it?

Does it depict a Norman victory over the English ?

No. It was made England by the Normans. As England was by then Norman.

I went to see it in Normandy when I was a kid, be great to get the chance to see it again.

Also some papers reporting that it was a "sweetener" as May has pledged £45m or so to help reinforce the borders at Calais.

Hump.

I know Normandy pretty well.

The landing beaches ARE worth your attention as are the beaches on western side of Cotentin peninsular .

Much to see although climate similiar to southern England

Finally, view of Mont St Michel from Granville is something to behold

Nice part of the world and plenty to do. Easy to get to as well, the slightest round London being the worse bit. Haven't seen the tapestry, but spent a bit of time in the region. Well worth checking out.

Lived there for a couple of years. Great place. Calva, Fruit de Mer at Etretat, Smelly Pont L'Eveque, old Madam Launay who could get you a knocked off microwave oven from the port at Le Havre, Benedictine. Happy days. Well worth a visit.

We visited Normandy last year as it was always something that I wanted to do. We stayed in a small hotel near the Pegasus Bridge landing site and toured around the area, taking in some of the landing sites, Arromanche, the tapestry, Honfleur and Deauville. Its a really nice place to visit with lots to do. France has gone expensive, but it was worth it. Paris and Rouen aside, the roads were quiet and driving was simple. Thoroughly recommend.
