Remarkable man?, I watched his programs last night on creating a Wild Tiger Sanctuary in Africa, great watch it was to as I love the big cats, so I read up a little on him and to say he's surrounded by controversy is an understatement, I think its good that he wants to increase the Tiger population and enhance their survival rate, but inbred Tigers surely isn't the way forward, the Tigers highlighted in the programs are apparently cross breeds between Siberian and Bengal Tigers so he's creating a different Tiger strain, that can't be right, plus his aim is to create an area where there are Tigers, Lion's, Cheetahs and Leopards I don't believe that to be right either. Anyone on here with an interest in the Big Cats with a view?
I met the great man himself, and his kids, on one of my stays at Londolozi - his private reserve in S Africa.
One of the most amazing places on earth.
Is he and is it? the place does look amazing, but John himself I'm not so sure yes what he's achieved with his Tigers is fantastic and I was glued watching the programs 3 hrs worth. but when you look more into him and his project his views seem flawed, charging 100k to name an Adult Tiger and 10k to name a cub I can understand, research and development of his project has to be paid for. But the Jury's on him his out for me at the moment at least.
I don't agree with Bobby though, I don't think he's a moron far from it.

It really is amazing at Londo. What he and his brother Dave have achieved there is incredible. I’ve been to a few different lodges across Africa and nothing compares to it. Their passion for Africa, it’s people and the animals is infectious.
The tiger stuff is operated completely separate to Londolozi, so I’ve never seen that, although have watched the documentaries.

Sounds like a wonderful experience, going out there to sample it all would certainly appeal to me, need a lottery win first though I understand the need to let nature take its course, but l think l would have intervened to save Runty who was one of the cubs of Julie’s second litter.
