Not madness at all.
It’s what they love doing.
Let’s leave the pc crap behind, especially from people who don’t know what they’re talking about.

Tragic indeed, having watched it over the years, I'm surprised that there aren't more casualties, the speeds they achieve are insane, with no run off areas or barriers etc.
RIP.

Tragic but the riders involved know exactly what the dangers are & love the challenge it represents.
It's not a round of any championship that they're committed to ride in.
I think they must be mad to do it but it's entirely their choice.

Fridays upcoming race, is a min average speed is 120mph. I think it was Harrinson he avg 136mph last sunday. That is mental.. the camera views off the bike are amazing.

But agree its mental how the race is aloud with all the deaths.

RIP

It's when the crowd or marshals start getting readily killed is when there's an issue.

The riders know the risks.

It is bloody mental though.

Absolute adrenalin junkies. They know the.risks. A mate of mine lost half his lung in sidecar racing.
Would still get back on a bike if he was fit enough.
RIP to the young man.

I’ve been a motorcyclist for 40 yrs mate and lve been round race tracks and that’s where the racing should take place, not round twisty roads with walls and houses and the like, l understand the adrenaline buzz l used love belting round a track on track days, talking to workmates this morning and one who is a racer who raced in Ireland last week and he agreed with me to a point, as in more safe guards are needed, another lad is/was a motocross rider who is lucky to be alive himself after breaking his neck last year.
What’s your experience of motorcycling and racing?

Steve.

You make fair points but road racing is seen as the ultimate .
North West 200 in NI is brilliant spectacle and brings lot of revenue to the province

It's easier to get killed on roads granted but surely it's down to choice . Rarely does anyone else get killed . Just the rider

Life is a risk. As I say, we ve not a problem allowing our siblings out to get hammered . Witness the relentless tide of utter Kunts at any airport on the pizze at 5am en route to a god forsaken Eastern Europe city to get further hammeredthen drowned or stabbed to death .

All the professional riders I ve known would never even ride a moped on a public British road . We allow drink ,drugged drivers back on the public highway and we seem to tolerate those who steam bikes, rob then fook off unchallenged by PC Police terrified of filling out more forms if the little rats crash . Our streets are lethal .

At least TT lads know what they re doing but ,as in all facets of life, there s a risk .

As to cage fighting .....I d suggest no way on earth should a civilised society allow this, worse still ,the unedifying sight of females punching and kicking the fook out of each other

I don’t particularly give a fuçk but let’s be honest here,if someone tried to start an event up from scratch like the IOM TT In this day and age it’s highly unlikely to be given the go ahead.

I was on nodding terms with the late great Steve Hislop. Great guy.

He held the lap record and his scraps with Fogerty were legendary .

He was fearless .

He was killed ,as many are . In those lethal death traps...helicopters.

Mike Hawthorne packed it on after becoming first British F. 1 champion. He thought it too dangerous.

He was killed on a by pass in Surrey when his car hit a tree.

I don’t have to have motorcycling experience, to be able to say, these guys know what they are getting themselves into.
People die each year climbing Everest, should that be banned too.

Add to that those who go climbing God forsaken hills in bad weather .

Exactly. The human race probably would have died out a long time ago, if it wasn’t for taking risks.
Would i like to do what these TT racers do, absolutely not.
But I support those that do.
