Remember watching him for NZ against Glammy at St Helens 32 years ago. Great player best summed up by Graham Gooch in facing NZ you had perhaps the best swing bowler to play the game whilst at the other end it was like Ilford 2nd XI. Get well soon Sir Richard. A joy to watch bowl.

Up there with the very best in a golden era for fast bowling, here's to a speedy recovery 👍

You might think I've forgotten, but one day, when you least expect it, my time will come.
Poll: Celtic and Rangers should be fast tracked into the Championship ASAP

A truly great bowler and a more than useful batsman.

At his peak was almost on a par with Marshall, and imho there is no higher praise.

His tally of test wickets is a,little inflated by Kiwi umpires lbw decisions, but he still took bucket loads of wickets away from home.

Wish him well.

The crowe brothers were there that day Prof. They were chipping golf balls over the rugby posts at the mumbles end. Great players.

Yes, that was a good NZ side (always better teams than the sum of their parts). Strong team of mostly first choice test players. The touring games became farcical in latter years but I miss the chance to see international teams playing clubs in cricket and rugby. When Neath became the bag snatching capital of Europe and even Treorchy playing Fiji.
