Powys people speaketh 19:07 - Jul 12 with 4213 viewsbuilthjack

A poll of 250 people in Powys were asked the question.
"Will you be supporting England at the World Cup?"
A massive 83% said no. Fact.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Did they really say "no" or did they say "na" and heard to mumble "bludy twpsyn" under their breath as they walked away?

bit weird. I always support any home nation unless Wales are there. The only people I have every found who think differently are cauliflowered ear'd woolies who refer to England as "the old enemy" and think an egg is a ball

The 17% who voted yes are now busy producing ceramics on their pottery wheels, running meditation classes and preparing Vegan goat’s cheese for the chattering middle classes in the Home Counties.

Edit: Spot the deliberate mistake.

Genuine question: why would you support any country that's not your own? Other than for some reason such as you like their style of play, or you're a big fan of Ronaldo (say) or you like their shirts (Croatia), etc. Ask the Dutch if they'd support Belgium or Germany and you'd get a similar answer. I'm not surprised in the slightest and I wouldn't go reading too much into it.

..and that means that we are obliged to support one or all of the other countries that make up the UK?
I thought that there was a choice in the matter and to err would not be regarded as deviant behaviour.

Britishness...is a political synonym for Englishness which extends English culture over the Scots, the Welsh, and the Irish. - Gwynfor Evans

I would be interested to hear Builthjack's opinion on who has done more for Powys. The Welsh Assembly or the British government.
