Bony if even half fit instead of Mcburnie.
Montero off the bench last half hour.
Completely off the cuff so forgive me for any howlers.

I think Bony and McBurnie would link up well, McBurnie is wasted on his own he works hard but he doesn't get anything to show for it.

At this present time best X1 players

EM
KN. VDH. JR. MO
LF. TC
DJ. OM. JM.

Literally on the fence with Roberts/ Naughton, McBurnie/Bony, and absolute toss up between Carroll, Fulton and Grimes.

1. For me CR needs more games in his natural position to justify selection- he is an athlete and a strong runner but never a right midfielder imo. Has to play right back. Naughton has been good this year so difficult to leave him out on current form.

2. McBurnie done well. I thin his technical ability is limited though his goal scoring is not. But takes a lot to look past a fully fit Bony.

3. Carroll, Grimes, Fulton, toss up depending on the needs for the specific game. All supporters should be aware of each players strengths and weaknesses.

I can pick the defence , McBurnie and Celina. We are in a good position of not knowing the best eleven. If you dont agree woth that you dont agree with what Potter is doing.

We don’t have one. It’s not like the Rodgers Championship season where if everyone was fit you more or less knew the starting eleven, formation and tactics.

We aren’t in a position to be able to do that this season, we have a group of young players who need game time but also need to be taken out of the firing line sometimes.

Jeff would obviously start if it came down to quality but his situation means it can’t happen.

Asoro needs time in the u23s, Mackay has not settled and is struggling with confidence and I’d have Routledge as cover for Celina as I haven’t really seen it like some others have in Byers, still early days for him though.

Jeff is still an impact sub regardless of fitness. When he has come on he has been given next to no defensive duties and been allowed to just tear at the opposition, you can’t do that for 90 minutes. Plus 20/30 minutes allows him to play his high intensity game without getting knackered and losing impact.

Maybe with away games, but not at home.

We’ve looked toothless without him apart from the QPR game. But due to his fitness issues it’s pointless even discussing, can never happen.

I'd agree with you and Jack247 - James to start Jeff to finish, Routs to start Mackay to finish too. Celina is just fine, when he's got a strong spine behind him (2 of Fer, Naughton and Carroll) he can really find space and express himself .

Depends on the formation

.Mulder.....................
Roberts.......VDH........Rodon......Ollson
James....Naughton.......Fer..........Routledge
...................Celina......................
..................CBR...................

Time for McBurnie to have some time with the Under 23s and possibly gain some confidence.

I’d probably go for that as well although I’d rather someone from the under 23s than Naughton

If potter knew what his best XI was he wouldn't pick them on a regular basis. We were within touching distance of top spot and right in the play off mix. Then for some unknown reason to the fans he changes the goalkeeper, and the results and league position have gone downhill since.
