Brexit vote 08:52 - May 21 with 5016 viewsvalleyboy

Latest opinion polls this morning. Are showing that the Brexit Party has nearly as much as the Labour and Plaid Cymru vote combined

Killeneyjack must be crying in his tea this morning

And this is by a Party, that was only formed a month ago and still two days to polling

And Plaid Cymru wants independence for Wales

It will never happen

Of course, they have and it's growing, he wants to deliver Brexit, that's what we voted for, he's picked an easy win.

As Farage is offering no manifesto at all, let go back to the Vote leave manifesto, on the basis of which people would have voted leave.

VOTE LEAVE FOR A FAIRER BRITAIN
June 22, 2016 7:50 PM
"A MESSAGE FROM GISELA STUART (LABOUR), BORIS JOHNSON (CONSERVATIVE), AND MICHAEL GOVE (CONSERVATIVE)
Let’s make history.
What is this campaign really about?
If we vote to stay, we are voting to continue being ruled by people we cannot chuck out. ….
Finally, when you are talking to people - please reassure them that after we Vote Leave, there won't be a sudden change that disrupts the economy. We will talk to our friends in Europe and discuss the best way to agree a new UK-EU relationship. We won’t rush into it. When we do make changes we will make them carefully."

Seems like the No deal Brexit now being championed by Farage and Johnson would be breaking that manifesto commitment of careful change that doesn't suddenly disrupt the economy. Its the hard brexiteers that have broken their promises to the 17.4M.

A FTA which everyone on the Leave side has always advocated, is not the same as the non Brexit remain tied to the CU and SM for perpetuity that Remainers and faux Brexiteers are pushing for.

I could understand why you would think that though, seeing as May has completely betrayed the party manifesto.

US and China spring to mind. They’re bound to come groveling to us to sign a trade agreement on our terms once we’ve left that pesky EU.

May's deal has us leaving the SM and CU and soon as the Irish border solution is found.

We are assured by leavers that such a solution is just round the corner, so what's the problem?

I would imagine not many people know what May's deal involves. Many Leavers are having a hissy fit despite May's red lines being more 'Brexity' than Farage was advocating during the referendum. It's all very bizarre.

Nearly every country outside of the EU.

.. and it’s disingenuous to suggest that the EU is comparable with other global trading blocs.

Theoretically you’re correct, but in reality we both know that May’s deal is nothing more than kicking the can down the road.

Are you saying the hard brexit politicians are lying about there being an easy solution to the Irish border issue?

Leading leaver Daniel Hannah has long advocated a Swiss style solution.
I think that would work. We leave the EU but join Schengen.

Would the ERG and Brexit party be happy with that?

The problem is, there's no incentive under the plan for EU to find a solution, we can't unilaterally leave so could end up in SM/CU in perpetuity.

It's the biggest trading bloc you minge.

What a great idea it is to cut ourselves out of that then go back in under WTO terms with a big begging bowl when we already have the best deal of all the countries who trade with the EU.

Unicorns and blue passports innit??

It’s possible to trade with blocs without being bound to political union.

There’s multiple examples of smaller economies that have FTAs with multiple blocs.

With massive strings attached.

You do realise we would have to re-negotiate hundreds of deals which have to be unanimously agreed first?

Yes, vote for the Brexit party

They won’t have one seat in Westminster. Will have no voting rights when Parliament votes on whatever tweaked deal May brings to the table next. Will be off in Brussels doing whatever MEPs do over there once elected (anyone actually know?)

Irrelevant

But serving as a good protest vote, bit like the Lib Dems in the local elections

Plus, led by Farage... 🙃

Oh,..Dave, what's occuring?
