Seems like some LBC bloke asked a Plaid bloke a similar question to what I asked this board the day before yesterday, I asked - ''Is it the case that it's not possible for the UK to leave the EU without breaking up the UK ?'', LBC ask the Welshie - "Some people have been saying that Brexit, if it happens, the breakup of the UK is inevitable. Are you now thinking more about an independent Wales?"

Talk of a pan-Celtic alliance, England and their Toryism, Monarchy, State religion, house of Lords etc is just too far gone for the modern World, if they come to 21st century then perhaps they can join the party I would say. [Post edited 7 Oct 2019 8:20]

No more tax dodging? I’m guessing you don’t know that Wales doesn’t have enough tax payers to support its current infrastructure, how do you think that would translate into the idealistic socialist society you and other Celtic nationalists desire?

Being fair, natural symbiosis between Sinn Fein and Plaid. One happy with blowing up cars and kids, other were happy to set fire to houses... [Post edited 8 Oct 2019 7:38]

Plaid Cymru conference in Swansea on 08:57 - Oct 8 with 890 views | ladyjack | Ireland was part of the UK state when a large percentage of the population was allowed to starve, I know a Irish person who said where he was from in Ireland [and it was less than 200 years ago at the time I was told] that the English led British forces pulled every male over the age of 8 out of their houses and executed them, Sinn Fein did stand up for civil rights and equality, as regards Plaid the highly sophisticated cottage burning that took place over a decade with unbelievably nobody injured or killed and nobody ever caught after hundreds of cottages were burned it had nothing to do with them or any Welsh group it is thought that the English led UK secret service did it, to try and discredit the Welsh nationalist cause as they did not want people voting that way and Wales getting independence. If Wales got money for its water and electricity and taxes from businesses here but registered elsewhere and money from the English nhs as lots of their old people retire here and become a drain on our resources then we would have enough of a tax take.

That sounds all well and good. But an independent Wales could never uphold the socialist policies that many in this country have become accustomed to... Also some of the biggest employers in Wales are registered elsewhere to avoid tax. Do you really think that people in Wales are willing to pay more tax for argubaly a lower quality of life?

How do you think the likes of Amazon and TATA are going to react when you ask them to make up the £11bn tax shortfall in the Welsh economy? Independence could work, but it would require more of a capitalist/industrial approach compared to the unsustainable socialist model that Plaid are offering.

Plaid are a middle of the road party full of ideas, don't forget Adam is in charge now not Leanne. Price has been looking at a 9p income tax rate even for higher earners and no business rates or council tax. To fund this there would be land taxes on residential, commercial and industrial land. In other words tax on assets/wealth and not earnings.
