Liam Walsh - His shelf life came to an end ‘Nigel Pearson’ on 11:28 - Jul 10 with 2779 views
Sometimes a player just needs to find the right club, look at Routs, he was obviously a good player but just never really settled anywhere until he came here.
Hopefully we will be the right club for Walsh!
Though I do agree every player has a time at a club, sometimes it's over before it really began and sometimes it ends after 2/3/4 years or sometimes...well, Routs.
An unusually personal attack from a manager on a departing player and quite a surprising one really. Sounds as if he knows there’s a good player in there but maybe was only allowed to offer him the same deal on account of his injuries last year?
And he’s got the nagging suspicion that he’s over them and could be a huge asset for us?
Time will tell.
Each time I go to Bedd - au........................

Nailed on to score against them if he plays.

No much of a personal attack. He really has not delivered for Bristol city but clearly is a class player. I think he is suggesting Liam Walsh left because he did no get a pay rise which he has not earned.
It is Swansea who are now taking a big risk on a talented player This has a Ferrie Bodde feel to it.

Typical of Pearson, he has form for this sort of thing, good manager, but an obnoxious individual, imo.

People getting riled up by the headline. The comments overall are far from "a personal attack". He's let a player go and was asked to justify the decision, what's he supposed to say?
A lot still to prove at Championship level, even if he stays fit. 26/46 games in League One the best he's managed. We know Cooper likes intensity in training and doesn't rotate his team unless he has to. If he needs wrapping in cotton wool might find himself out in the cold, as he has with managers in the past.

Well in that case what an idiotic pick by Cooper

I agree with you Jasper, I still find myself hoping his injuries are behind him now and we've gotten lucky, gotten ourself a player about to turn from an ugly duckling into a Swan.

Its a calculated risk done in harmony with the medical staff. All signings are risks. If he is over his injury troubles it could be an inspired signing like Bodde until his luck ran out.

Pearson is out of order in my opinion.
All he had to say is I felt the squad needed some fresh impetus and to achieve that we needed to free up some cash.
We wish him well in the future.
He always manages to make things more personal than they need to be.

It’s exactly what he said, can’t dictate the affect tho, nice to hear a manager talking.
A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Not a nice character as his past has proved.
Honestly I find the "diplomatic" non-answers players and managers are coached to give more insulting than when a manager is somewhere approaching honest about his reasons. Walsh already has another job, Pearson doesn't need to write him a reference in the press. His injury problems and contract situation are common knowledge, why is it better for Pearson to sit there with a smile and mutter bland, sanitised platitudes we've heard a million times before?

Too right, lets have less bland, boring platitudes and more shite stirring, nasty honesty!

The previous chairman was without doubt the most sucessfull chairman in the clubs history. Small people on forums can run him down but the facts speak for themselves. His final act was both dramramatic and selfless as he prefered to resign rather than let the club get walked over by low quality rival. A rival that put up a spreadsheet to local Yorksihire journalists featuring the physical details and name of a Swansea player.
He was in charge for 15 seasons and only one was unsucessful. Renato Sanches lit up Euro 21. Swansea has been top 30 in the country for 12 years. The people of no belief in the club and unable to network and cooperate can get lost. The sooner the club are rid of them the better. SCSF is no place for whingers.
