Liverpool went on to win 2—0, with Jürgen Klopp praising his performance after the game, saying to the press, "He did well, everything looks promising."[13] On 4 November 2020, Williams played the full ninety minutes in a Champions League tie at Atalanta, keeping a clean sheet in a 5—0 win. On 16 December 2020, he made his Premier League debut with a start in a 2—1 win against Tottenham Hotspur.[14] On 8 May, he slotted back alongside Nat Phillips in a 2—0 win over Southampton.[15] He went on to play every game in the heart of the defence for Liverpool as they finished third. must be crap unless of course it's the managers he has played under on loan

Centre backs tend to get better with age. Monk and Ash Williams came from humble background league 1 for Monk and none league for big Ash. They grew into becoming club greats. Darling, Wood, Cabango. Not the finished article. Where will the end up? They have tough gig playing for Swansea with Benda and Fisher behind them under Martin ball. No where to hide.

No doubt he's a better player than he showed when he was with us but I'd be very surprised if he has a career in the Premier League player. I remember him playing on the left side of the 3 at the Liberty & he's right footed (not left) so I can't agree with you I'm afraid. The incident at Luton clearly affected him & impacted on his time with us, how much we'll never know. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Caulker & Guehi both looked the real deal here when they were aged about 20. If you are good enough you are old enough.

The player ins not suited to g football if the Luton incident hurt him that much. Martin of course does what Martin does and went all 'sensitivity' about it according to the club's protection and guardianship codes. This cleared the club of the duties and emphasised a how feeble and weak these "young men" might be. Whittaker, Dhanda and Cabango got similar stick. Cabanago cared not a jot and got back to work, He has been abused since he was a pro getting filthy abuse for being Welsh not for being of part African origin. Perhaps the other three were taken aback by the Abuse Welsh teams get. It is so ingrained the middle age hard nuts on here seen nothing offensive at a at being insulted by far right English 20 somethings. Last season 4 Swansea players were racially abused. It is no coincidence they are Swansea players. Swansea fans love a bit of ethnic slur banter. They "know what they are for sure" WRU non one stood up for that woman. Where were the men? Banter right?

It clearly affected him & we're talking individuals here, not everyone is the same. Would he deal with it in a different way when he's a few years older & more experienced? Very probably but the fact is that he isn't. Others are calling out Martin for his lack of empathy & ignoring players & you appear to be going to the other extreme.

Can you identify any other player that lost his mojo like this due to one particular match incidents of fan abuse.? There probably are but cannot think of any. Some player in Italy leaving because of it perhaps?
