And who owns Macquarie? Again, investment groups and pension funds. Anyone with a private pension will effectively be a shareholder in something. Yes, there will be some wealthy individuals involved, but most people will have no idea who or what their pension is invested in.

Again, we should probably stop pretending that "man watches football match with friend" is some kind of gotcha.

It very much is trolling. You don't go around calling yourself "Controversial Jack" without the explicit intention of trying to wind people up.

We're not talking about common or garden stupid people like plenty we could all mention. This is a different type entirely.

As I've said in the past, the whole "shareholders" thing conjures up images of cigar smoking fatcats wallowing in cash at the expense of the working man. Problem is that image is total nonsense. Thames Water is majority owned by Pensioners. 20% of it is owned by the Universities Superannuation Scheme.

He's entitled to his beliefs. He seems to take great pleasure in how those beliefs rile others up.

Personally I couldn't imagine hating a country so much yet being happy to profit by being employed there.

He's a troll. He has no idea what he's talking about and doesn't care. Your response will no doubt have him pulling his little pudding.

This place would be better off without him and others like him.

I don't recall ever seeing a sign that read "Refugees Welcome. Apart from those who aren't genuinely fleeing oppression, or have extensive criminal records in their countries of origin".

He may be more concerned with internal challenges than the voters, which as you say, generally deserve all they get for continually voting them in.

Probably not that cut and dried.

Just from our previous history, we know that Martinez had agreed to move to Wigan weeks before it actually happened because Whelan let it slip that he had. If the club can prove contact between Southampton and Martin before their relegation from the Prem was officially confirmed, then we absolutely have to try and get our rightful due even if it's to stop others thinking that they can do the same.

Gething would appear to be feeling the heat already having swept into office on a wave of dislike. This would be a quick, easy win for his administration.

Of course, the taxpayer would be bearing the brunt of the cost of undoing all the changes that the taxpayer didn't want in the first place, but that's Governments for you.

The backtracking begins...

Not backtracking enough obviously. A 20mph limit outside a school makes no sense at all when schools/nurseries are closed. A variable limit would be fine if safety is the concern.

No real need for a 20mph limit outside hospitals at all.

He's right though. They've made it harder and more expensive to get hold of cigarettes and all they've done is created the vape market, which is even more attractive to kids.

I can't think of anywhere in recorded human history where banning something that people want has led to its eradication. The Jocks are even doubling down on this nonsense by trying to increase their minimum unit pricing for alcohol.

This of course won't remotely trouble the problem drinkers. It will just lead to increased cost and inconvenience for everyone else. Wales will no doubt follow suit shortly.

Birbalsingh drives some left wingers crazy. A successful, ethnic woman who's school consistently delivers the kind of performance that ought to be impossible given the local demographics if you listen to the kind of excuses regularly made for the failure in other places.
