My mate asked me about our best 11 in the premier league but I'm not sure who I would put because many players I have choosen did not played in the premier league. So I'm really curious who would you put in our best XI
So not sure if any of you watched those matches but I wanted to summarize the performances of our players on international duty.
Ki Sung-Yueng (South Korea vs Columbia)
Captained his team and they have won 2-1. Overall good performance from our midfielder, maybe he didn't have some brillant passes but strong figure for his team
Oli Mcburnie (Scotland u21s vs Latvia u21s)
He played a full game for Scotland u21 as they draw vs Latvia. Unlucky not to score, had a really decent game, however he still sometimes run like headless chicken.
Martin Olsson and Kristoffer Nordfeldt (Sweden vs Italy)
They were both unused substitutes but Sweden has won 1-0 vs Italy and they are one step closer to World Cup
Lukasz Fabianski (Poland vs Uruguay)
Fabs played 45 minutes as he replaced Artur Boruc who ended his international career and played last match for Poland. Fabhad a quiet evening as he didn't have much to do, he kept clean sheet and captained Poland. Great distribution and commanding of his area though, stuff that we don't see often from Fabs.
Tammy Abraham (England vs German)
Tammy's first match in England Squad, not his best match but not bad. He was really nervous and sometimes made stupid calls, had one situation that he should turn into the goal. But worked very hard and overall decent match from our young man.
After yesterday's game it really seems like Paul Clement lost the players, I'm not even angry because we played like shit, that we lost but the thing that angered me was the lack of desire to win this game, to score some goals. When we had the last chance to score, none bar fabs and tammy looked like they want to score, ffs if our goalkeeper and a kid on loan are the only ones that actually show deep desire to win the game, then we have a problem. We maybe don't have the best squad but I think we are able to win games like this with this squad but we need players who want it and not just run round like a headless chicken for 90 minutes.
Fabianski lost his place to Szczesny who sits on the bench since the season started. Harsh, fabs is in good form and played every game. So now we probably dont have any player who is in the starting 11 of their National team, shame.
With Cork leaving we need new captain, we of course have Leon but with Mesa right now I don't think Leon will be playing often. So who is the best option for you? Few days ago I would say Gylfi but since he won't be there with us in few days then my choice would be Mawson since he is vocal and certainly will be playing and has the aura of captain around him, my other choice would be fabianski, he is senior and he is respected.
Couldn't watch the match and can't find any good highlights so how was it? Did west ham were better than us? or their goal was just lucky one or a mistake made by one of ours? how was the players? any good perfomance from someone?
so what do you think? i was happy to see that defence looked good even naughton but the rest not so good fabianski - 7 naughton - 6 mawson - 7 fernandez - 7 olsson - 8 cork - 5 caroll - 6 fer - 6 narsingh - 5 ayew - 4 gylfi - 7
fabianski plays for poland today, which surprise me that he is still number 1 when in the poland nt szczesny is availaible and is the best goalkeeper in serie a with 12 clean sheets, where fabianski doesnt have good season, anyway good luck
i really like cork and britton but how they get the armband? they are not leaders on and of the pitch, sure maybe they are respected but now swansea need a real character so why not give it to siggy? who has the leaders skills or even after the latest match i would give it to fabianski
